For all these days, I was under the wrong impression that the tunnel project was aimed at solving Bengaluru traffic problem. Now, DCM has clarified that it is intended to solve a social problem - of people not wanting to marry a man without car. How stupid I was!

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested a senior Indian Police Service officer of the 2009 batch, presently posted as DIG, Ropar Range, Punjab, along with a private individual, in a bribery case involving Rs 8 lakh. The officer was also allegedly seeking recurring monthly illegal payments from the complainant. During searches at various premises linked to the public servant in Punjab and Chandigarh, the CBI recovered substantial cash and incriminating material, including- cash of approximately Rs 5 crore (and counting), jewellery weighing about 1.5 kg, documents pertaining to immovable properties and assets in Punjab, Keys of two luxury vehicles (Mercedes and Audi), 22 luxury watches, locker Keys, 40 litres of imported liquor bottles, fire Arms-1 double-barreled gun, 1 Pistol, 1 Revolver, 1 Airgun, along with ammunition. Recovery from the middleman:- cash of Rs 21 lakh Both accused have been arrested and will be produced before the designated court on October 17. Searches and further investigation are continuing. Bloomberg notes that Apple now likely needs an engineer rather than a sales or operations specialist. While the company expanded significantly under Cook’s leadership, it has struggled to break into new tech categories such as virtual reality, generative AI, smart home devices, and autonomous vehicles. Ternus reportedly stands out among other potential successors. After stepping down, Cook may remain as chairman of Apple’s board — a path previously taken by leaders like Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates.
