I loved this movie bc it’s one of the few that reveals how chronic self victimization can wreak havoc on your relationships. Her husband was a classic case of martyrdom: constantly using self sacrifice as a mask to avoid his own fear of failure. People outside of the relationship praised him for it, believing him to be as generous as he presented, but she knew he was really cowering and resentful of her confidence and discipline. Even after his death, his image as a martyr framed her as a villain. Her only crime was that she was more honest than him.

Nifemi is a terrible person. You could have surgery with him, and while you’re recovering, the generator would go off. You’d call the nurses, but no one would answer. For your own good, avoid Elysian Clinic. By the way, he’s not even a real surgeon.

The people who approve of strippers being called to sexually harrass a little boy and even call it the right thing to do so he “won’t be gay” are now appreciating how well grounded he seems. Again I’ve been on this app long enough to know that the worst thing you can do with your life is change it on the whims and caprices of men.
