Was at an anti reform protest. Someone gave a speech (rightfully) calling out anti immigrant rhetoric. She tried to relate it to herself by saying her father is a French immigrant. I'll be honest, I don't think reform is going after the kids of white western Europeans

"I used to treat people with basic dignity and respect until I discovered an unscientific misogynist theory invented by a quack sexologist"
Actually feel a bit envious of Coren here. I can also remember a time when I thought these men were 'sweet, jolly quizzers'. It was before I Googled the term 'autogynephile'. Anyway, perhaps she can have a round on Only Connect about it one day?

dubai feels like it was built by banksy, a slightly too on the nose satire of marketing and capitalism. a holiday destination for people who have been kicked in the head by a horse.

Describing the election of a social democratic Mayor in the settler colonial empire known as the United States as the biggest win for the left ever…
This will be the most important global win for the left, maybe ever. NYC is the financial and, most importantly, the cultural capital of the world.

We have reached a point in our society where we live through adverts
Just watched the new John Lewis advert — it brought tears to my eyes. No wokery, no DEI messaging, no unusual family setups. Just a father, a son, and the simple, timeless love of family. A beautiful portrait of ordinary British life. Well done, John Lewis.
Nothing changed.
That’s probably one of the most amazing charts about the US ever. How did it happen?

It's further proof of the yankification of the uk
1
Poppiemania in the uk is so strange because its centered around remembrance for WWI, a war basically everyone agrees was completely pointless, but people talk about it like it was some valiant battle for freedom
White Poppies are worn by pacifists. Red poppies are worn by those who understand that the right to be a pacifist is protected by people with guns.
