Sewa Nyaya Utthan Foundation Demands Action Over Communal Encroachment on Govt Land Reserved for Hospital in Raghubir Nagar, West Delhi
New Delhi, 8 Nov 2025: We, Sewa Nyaya Utthan Foundation (SNU), express deep concern over illegal construction of a religious structure on government land in West Delhi’s Raghubir Nagar, originally acquired for the construction of a public hospital, as revealed by a report today in Rashtra Jyoti.
As per the report, documents obtained through official records and Right to Information (RTI) replies by Save India Foundation, founded by civic activist Preet Singh Sirohi, reveal that the land on which the structure stands was never allotted, leased or permitted for any religious use.
The land was acquired in 1961 for public purposes and explicitly reserved for hospital construction.
On October 29, 2025, a bench of Delhi high court led by Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya and Justice Tushar Rao Gedela, hearing a writ petition by Save India Foundation, directed Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB) to attend to the complaint “with expedition” and, upon verification of land ownership, initiate legal action to remove the unauthorised structure.
We believe it to be a serious case of encroachment and administrative inaction, and call upon the authorities to act decisively to restore public trust in governance.
We are backing Save India Foundation in this ongoing legal battle.
