Okay before it spreads further, no this is not a sign of the end times. Risso's Dolphins are NOT predicted at this moment to be heavily impacted by anthropogenic climate change. This isn't doom, this is extraordinary and should be treated with glee. L
A miles-long cluster of dolphins has been filmed off the coast of California, forming an unusual "super pod" of more than 1,500 marine creatures. abc7.la/42EsPJh

I finally made it through that episode! I got barely into the next one before this came up. I get that streaming to places like Alaska is challenging, but other services manage to do it. I've been watching Star Trek my entire life, literally. I want to watch more. Let me, please.
I live in Alaska. I know this isn't a big market, but like...our internet can be unstable. Why isn't there at least a way to set maximum quality to help deal with this issue? I am about to give up on this platform, genuinely.
A feral cat caught on camera trap with a fledgling Norfolk Island green parrot. Only ~250 remain in the wild, so every bird counts. Despite efforts to reduce feral cat numbers in the island's national park, they are still a big problem. 📸Daniel Gautschi & Luis Ortiz-Catedral.

A reminder of how the skull of the Vaquita (Phocoena sinus), the rarest and smallest of living #cetaceans, is oddly similar to the Millennium Falcon!! #MayThe4thBeWithYou #MarineMammals #NHMLAC
Running errands this weekend I came across this Millennium Falcon, its shape seemed oddly familiar. It was the similarly-shaped skull of Phocoena sinus, one of several from our collections @NHMLA!! #MarineMammalMonday #MarineMammals #Vaquita

My testimony opposing HB105. Fumbled my words a bit towards the end, but I was glad I was able to oppose this bill.

This week, over 900 households in Sweetwater, Texas are getting handwritten letters from kids asking them to help stop the slaughter at their town's annual rattlesnake roundup. I was struck by this quote, which is 100% spot on. 1/6
POV: you’ve just drawn a perfectly acceptable bird and you’re about to ruin it because bird feet are impossible for all but like 6 artists on the planet.
Grey and humpback whales swimming together — at one point, I think they even touch. I’ve been searching and I’m not sure this has been filmed underwater. Most incredible thing I’ve ever seen: #WorldWhaleDay 🔊
