Sixteen million of them are children and 17 million of them are adults who already work full-time.
40 million of them could get jobs.

1.2 million are veterans. Coulter is cruel like the other MAGAs.

And many millions more are disabled and cannot hold down paying jobs.

I personally know people who have told me that can't make too much or they lose benefits. Wonder what part of those full timers that is?

The rest work for places like Walmart who won't allow full time so they Don't have to cover their insurance. Send them to snap and Medicaid.

why on earth would a full time worker need SNAP? Cut out the netflix and other non-necessities if you cant afford food - ridiculous

Just think how hard Coulter works to be a cruel, insufferable bitch. Saying nothing is literally the least amount of effort. What a way to live.

Bring this back. Stop paying farmers to destroy viable crops.

And who is hiring now, that pays a fair wage. You shouldn't have to work 2-3 jobs to make ends meet. Why dont we cut the salary of all politicians to the wage of a Walmart worker...then let's see the change

Josh Hawley can suck it. He said the same thing about people losing Medicare and then - checks notes - voted to take away Medicare.

Is it just me, or do other Americans find it strange that 1 in 8 Americans have to rely on SNAP benefits? We need to have a deeper conversation about what is really wrong with our country.

How do you know? How is this audited for fraud or corruption? Nothing the federal government does is ever checked. How dare anyone revisit it because the sob stories start.

Josh Hawley created this mess with his vote on the big stupid bill. He’s the arsonist who’s now wanting to be championed as the fire fighter.

Bring back SNAP but only with staple food items like potatoes, rice, chicken, cheese, and basic fruits and vegetables. Stop poisoning the poor with your compassion.

Annie a special kind of ugly, the kind that make up or plastic surgery can’t fix. She’s so obtuse that her ugly comes straight out of her soul and sits on her face, right there., in her eyes.

Perhaps Coulter should lobby her contacts in the GOP for corporate tax rates to be linked to wages being paid to low paid hourly employees. Pay a living wage or pay added taxes to cover SNAP benefits for those employees who qualify because of low pay.

Assuming your math is accurate, that’s still 8 million that should have reform at least, if not be kicked off entirely without hesitation lol

Honest question - would you support restrictions on what SNAP can be used for at the store? No soda, for example. Should the SNAP benefits only be used for "real" food? If not, why? If so, how would you suggest implementing a qualified list of eligible SNAP items?

1.5 million are not US citizens.

In 24 hours I have seen more fat women with full manicures, fake lashes and top of the line phones, complaining about SNAP than anything else. All showing carts full of expensive junk food. Recipients spend MORE on food than taxpayers, only 28% h/hs have monthly income (census)

Adults who work full time for minimum wage are living below the poverty level. They need help.

So angry at people who either know better or should know better, making outrageously stupid comments about people receiving SNAP. Not one of them says, if these working people made a livable wage then they wouldn’t need to be on supplements aid.

So by your math 9 million of those EBT card holders and some of the people in the other 17 million households could work. That’s not a small number. Food banks are packed with food, just takes a bit to go get it.

AI generated facts: "In Fiscal Year 2024, the average monthly participation was about 41.7 million people, or 12.3% of the population. The assertion that “there are 40 million SNAP recipients who could get jobs” is too simplistic and largely unsupported by available data. Many SNAP recipients are working, many are not able (or partially able) to work, and many are in households with children or disabilities."
