I think we've seen this sort of thing before in America... Lord knows there was as much anxiety about the tribalism of Italians when they first came. Was almost a kind of racial apocalypse for some of our native stock. But you know, the descendants of Italian mobsters are now retired cops on Staten Island or whatever. America has a way of defusing ethnic internecine conflict over time; once it's imported from the old country, it takes a couple generations and it's mostly over. Perhaps the same will happen with the Somalis, it's hard to say whether it will.
