i think playing coop with a lot of on ball responsibility is actually very good for development, but if you’re trying to compete for a chip (the goal from trading luka), the way they’re using him as well as the roster around him is just not gonna work
i think the role we’ve been using him to start the year hasn’t helped but he also just hasn’t been good either, there’s 100% still a useful player in there tho imo
one thing with bub is i think he’s best off DHOs and curls for his shots but he’s been so hesitant this year that you aren’t getting any value from there, he has good iq but the passing outside of pnr isn’t really strong rn bc his passes have 0 zip
blitzes have been one thing that he’s kinda struggled with when it comes to his reads out of them, but i think he can easily develop against that bc he has a strong handle and keeps his dribble, to start the year tho he’s been picking it up really early tho
i don’t think darryn peterson is a natural pg but almost no one is to me anymore, he creates advantages and knows where the weak parts of the defense are when he collapses them with really good vision
i wanna see self put him in those on ball positions where he’ll see blitzes
Brian Keefe said he told Kyshawn George to foul in this situation:
“We should’ve tailed off and played out the 9 seconds. I misjudged the clock. That’s on me.”
(Shoutout @bijan_todd for asking this question)
Darryn Peterson has been quashing doubts about his low-ish 3 point volume during the start of the season, he's been launching movement threes, shots on the break, off flares etc. Really quick release of the ball
