CNN's Van Jones was not a fan of Zohran Mamdani's angry, far-left, rage-filled victory speech: "I think he missed an opportunity. I think the Mamdani that we saw in the campaign trail, who was a lot more calm, who was a lot warmer, who was a lot more embracing, was not present in that speech. And I think that Mamdani is the one you need to hear from tonight. There are a lot of people trying to figure out, can I get on this train with him or not? Is he going to include me? Is he going -- is he -- is he going to be more of a class warrior even in office? I think he missed a chance tonight to to open up and bring more people into the tent. I think his tone was sharp. I think he was using the microphone in a way that he was almost yelling. And that's not the Mamdani that we've seen on Tiktok and the great interviews and stuff like that." "So, I felt like it was a little bit of a character switch here, where the warm, open, embracing guy that's close to working people was not on stage tonight. And there were some some other voice on stage. That said, he's very young. And he just pulled off something very, very difficult. And I wouldn't write him off, but I think he missed an opportunity to open himself up tonight. And I think that that will probably cost him going forward."

It's horrifying enough in the pictures – an enormous tombstone in the middle of a once-beautiful public park seized and destroyed by @barackobama, but trust me, it's much worse in real life. An absolute abomination, a massive monument to total emptiness and cynicism.
We’re thrilled to take you behind the scenes of the Obama Presidential Center, a new home for hope located in Chicago, built for the world. @BarackObama and @MichelleObama recently walked the site - “a living, breathing, dynamic cultural and gathering space.” nytimes.com/2025/10/18/arts/…

“Free Palestine” a winning message in New York. This win belongs to the organizers and communities who refused to compromise. That’s people power, not party politics. The people’s rejection of Zionism has to become an organized force.

A message to ⁦@CurtisSliwa⁩ from the Cuomo party
Drop your favorite Zionist crash outs from the Mamdani fallout. Watching them realize their ideology is crumbling in real time is honestly the best part.

The Zohran Mamdani victory is reminiscent of that Obama 2008 win.. When elected officials become heroes and saviors, movements get crushed because of the delusion of succeeding in changing the system from within.

I struggle with not feeling frustrated toward people who are politically uninformed and largely disengaged, only getting involved briefly to vote for whoever is popular, then ignoring politics again until the next election.

A decolonized Palestine will not be binational. It will be a Palestinian state, rooted in indigenous sovereignty. Jewish communities that reject Zionism and commit to justice can live here—but not with stolen land or settler privilege.

We were explicitly told by NYPD “why can’t you be like the other guys & get a permit?” they even referenced the time and date of the Palestine action that was upcoming & permitted. Before this we never had an issue with sound.
For years, liberation movements in NYC have steered clear from applying for NYPD sound permits; as the only function they serve is collaborating with police. They don’t keep us safe and our ability to use sound relies on people power. We refuse to legitimize the permit system.

When we say a protest with a permit is a parade, it’s not hyperbole or edgy sloganeering. There are only 2 kinds of permits: sound + parade. Parade need to be applied for 9 months in advance. Sound permits are only acquired by applying at a precinct. nyc.gov/site/nypd/services/l…

They are scaring us with the consequences of resisting genocide by threatening to physically harm and humiliate us. The arrest is just pretext. Most of these arrests are summons that become DATs or get dismissed at trial. It doesn’t even stop the march. Just appeases racists.

Arrests/brutality at certain actions depended on local captain/chief/borough command. Many were hands off, but since 2024, at the peak of the genocide in Gaza, a whole-scale vicious and brutal crackdown on Palestine became policy for NYPD. More here: wolpalestine.com/resistrepre…
