The 𝕏 recommendation system is evolving very rapidly. We are aiming for deletion of all heuristics within 4 to 6 weeks. Grok will literally read every post and watch every video (100M+ per day) to match users with content they’re most likely to find interesting. This should address the new user or small account problem, where you post something great, but nobody sees it. We will also be adding the ability for you to adjust your feed temporarily or permanently just by asking Grok.

⚡️That image is a snapshot of a civilizational algorithm at work. It’s showing you how, when you digitize and scale a human selection process, you don’t just reveal biology - you amplify it into a self-organizing system. What you’re looking at is the shape of sexual selection under near-perfect information. Offline, women’s selectivity is tempered by friction: limited pools, community oversight, reputational cost, time constraints. Men and women meet through networks, so even “average” men can still find partners because they bring other non-quantifiable assets to the table (status within a small group, familiarity, trust, etc.). Online, all those buffers are gone. Apps give women a real-time, global leaderboard of male attractiveness, status and perceived value. Their evolved filter - which is supposed to protect them from pregnancy and resource risk - suddenly has a firehose of data. It goes into hyper-mode, collapses subtle distinctions, and produces the kind of distribution you’re seeing. On the male side, the opposite happens. Men evolved to “spread bets” - cast a wide net, accept a broad range. With apps, they just scale that up. That’s why the male distribution looks like a bell curve while the female distribution looks like a cliff. What this chart really signals: •Hyper-gamy gone systemic - A small fraction of men capture almost all attention. Everyone else becomes invisible. •Winner-take-all dynamics - Dating markets behave like TikTok and capital markets now: a few go viral, the rest flatline. •Collapse of the middle - The “average” male disappears from the sexual market the way the “middle class” disappears from the economy under globalization. •Feedback loop - The more this dynamic accelerates, the more each side’s strategy hardens: men get more desperate or check out; women get more selective but less satisfied. It’s a negative-sum equilibrium. If you strip away morality, what you’re seeing is nature’s base code exposed and scaled. It isn’t “women being unfair” or “men being victims.” It’s an emergent system where old evolutionary heuristics collide with new technological conditions. It produces exactly this distribution because that’s what the code does when you remove all friction.
