The Labour Party is 120 years old today, I thought I’d do a thread of some of its greatest achievements for which we can all be proud
“I like easy solutions which amount to someone else being responsible”
I think I’m absolutely sold on @ZackPolanski. Refreshingly honest, down to earth, and policies that benefit the many, not the few. It’s so different to the tories, labourtories and reform. Breath of fresh air
No you just agree with the bulk of what he says
Critics of Polanski should watch this. These are all lucid, compelling answers (I personally disagree on nuclear). This connects much more with under 50s than anything Starmer or Badenoch are going to say.
Seen lots of people posting pics of them watching the traitors final and I can’t cope. Why is your big light on?

Ridiculous tweet, all parties stand on a cost of living platform. What party is directly saying to the electorate "vote for us we want to make things less affordable"?
Cost. Of. Living. It's a vote winner.

To the extent he’s actual a democratic socialist this wouldn’t be a change of principles. There’s not democratic socialist about defunding public safety and prevent the construction of homes
2025: A democratic socialist ends his campaign as an anti-defund the police YIMBY
Have they tried paying people to build more houses?
Is Rachel Reeves proposing a version of the Help to Buy scheme in the Budget? Her answers to questions at her speech would seem to indicate that the government is (desperately) looking for ways to boost housebuilding

Some very odd definitions have been used here
It is pretty striking when you lay it all out there
This is the right policy direction. A system based on reciprocating those who contribute towards it through NI contributions. This country lacks any sustainable form of Unemployment Insurance.
EXCL: Employees who lose their jobs will get higher benefit payouts than those who have never done a day’s work in Labour’s welfare overhaul. Pat McFadden drawing up a Bill to give bigger, short-term payments to people who paid NI. thesun.co.uk/news/37197840/j…

He is just announcing that he doesn't understand how the system works
Replying to @christiancalgie
“My own view is in 2 budgets’ time the markets will force the Chancellor into a genuine austerity budget. “Left won’t buy it. “Thats why I believe there will be a general election caused by economic collapse in 2026”

“Stats for lefties” and the stats in question are just lies with the word “literally” inserted into the middle
Your party is literally putting refugees in concentration camps

Though you’re right, he’s also playing on easy mode because his opponents are utterly useless. Like how Labour’s awful campaign in 2024 was saved by a generationally unpopular government running a terrible campaign stuffed full of own goals
Except he isn’t a generational talent, he’s back by professional producers. When he’s off script or caught off guard he doesn’t have the natural instinct to handle the situation. He a left liberal progressive running in a left liberal progressive city - it’s that simple
I get the arguments that Mamdami is a generational political talent but it's also hard to fully assess just how good a basketball team really is when they are playing the Washington Generals

This is so dumb I thought it was a parody
When I first learned a toilet like that existed inside the White House, I was horrified President Trump is making the People’s House more elegant and beautiful for generations of Americans to come!

Intensity isn’t longevity
Anyone who was vocally proud of calling ChatGPT a fad especially needs to step back and re-evaluate

This assisted suicide Bill has been opposed by countless charities, Royal Colleges, a former Chief Coroner. Every one of them says it is unsafe. Legislation as dangerous as this should never become law.
🚨“IT WILL BE VERY DIFFICULT TO DELIVER ASSISTED DYING SAFELY” The Chief Executive of Standing Together Against Domestic Abuse joins numerous other experts warning that the assisted suicide Bill simply isn’t safe. How much more evidence do Peers need to reject the flawed Bill?
Seriously who cares? Government should finally get a spine and ride out Westminster noise
🔺 Update: Rachel Reeves falsely told the prime minister and his ethics adviser that she and her husband were unaware they needed a licence to rent out their home, emails show thetimes.com/uk/politics/art…

Completely missing the point. They’re saying their consumer market is moving away from gaming to consumer alternative media. They games are competing with doomscrolling for your time
Replying to @Shamaboy11
This isn’t about console wars. I couldn’t care less about them becoming a 3rd party publisher; I’m just scratching my head as to why they need to compete with TikTok or movies. If this were a Microsoft statement, I might’ve understood it. But this is the Xbox division saying this
