Breaking: New evidence suggests Mamdani is lying about his meeting with “KILL THE GAYS” lawmaker in Uganda.
In July 2025, Mamdani and his father, Mahmood (a former professor at an Ugandan college), met with the architect of Uganda’s anti-gay laws, Rebecca Kadaga. Those laws seek harsh criminal penalties for acts of homosexuality. As Kadaga originally conceived the law, it included a death penalty provision and penalties for parents who don’t report their gay kids. The media called it “the world’s harshest anti-gay law.” [see receipts at

When the photo broke in
@nypost 3 days ago, Mamdani defended, saying, in short, “I didn’t know who she was.” Mamdani claims his meeting with Kadaga and his father was a chance encounter at an airport.
But, Uganda Watchdog says it was an official meeting at “an upscale Kampala office.” [2nd link]
And, Mamdani’s father knows Kadaga well. They have a long history.
For example:
As early as 2011, he publicly praised Kadaga, saying he “saluted [her] courage.” [3rd link]
They were keynote speakers at a symposium with the Prime Minister of Uganda. [4th link]
Most importantly, Kadaga oversaw an official demand for a parliamentary investigation of the father’s alleged academic misconduct. [5th and 6th links] This was when she held a role overseeing public institutions and Mamdani was head of an Institute of Social Research.
No published report describes what happened with Kadaga’s investigation, so she might have buried it. But a separate lawsuit found liability. [7th link]
Mamdani left the university shortly thereafter.
All of this is public in Uganda.
So, Mahmood Mamdani knew PRECISELY what Rebecca Kadaga stood for. Do you believe his son’s explanation now?
Apparently, this is another example of
@ZohranKMamdani thinking the media won’t do its job. In this case, he was right. We offered this information to reporters, who passed on the story.
Bottom Line: This isn’t about Uganda. It’s about honesty, integrity, and hypocrisy. Mamdani built his platform on equality and human rights. But, this new evidence suggests he lied to sanitize an official meeting with one of the world’s most notorious anti-LGBTQ figures.
