I’m sorry but enough is enough. It’s beyond appalling that Bibi has shamelessly used Charlie’s assassination to push propaganda. And you know damn well Charlie was a friend of the Jewish people, NOT the secular Israeli government. I am sick & tired of the two being conflated.

the kid who shot charlie was only 22. this is insane because 22 means he basically grew up marinating in the broadband soup. he had no buffer period of pre internet adulthood, no separation between formative years & the always on firehose. his psyche was forged entirely in the age of memes, polarization, constant feeds, & parasocial rage cycles. we are now seeing individuals in society like this reaching adulthood & have access to very sophisticated weapons. this will be a serious challenge for security in america going forward.

I didn’t sleep. The number of disagreements I got in with Charlie over the years and he still always reached out and gave me advice— even when I was bitter, didn’t deserve it and fought him. Everybody has a Charlie story. Be the Happy Warrior that Charlie wanted us all to be.

Charlie gave me and countless other young people mentorship & a voice. Even when we disagreed, he offered support And the coward shot him while he was fucking debating. May your legacy live on, Charlie. May we keep giving a voice to the youth. And may this be a Turning Point.
