These guys post some pretty cringe white nationalist dogshit. Nazi vaporwave AI slop with christofascist dogwhistles all over is absolutely par for the low-t course.
If you want a sense of how out-of-touch the landlord lobby is, they're worried someone could beat the system by voluntarily choosing to pay over $2,000/month for an apartment they're not living in.
I think what we’re seeing here is that. Quietly tamping down any notion of NYPD not following city law OR of impeding ICE, maintaining things in an “orderly” way, not doing any political plays. Once the threat of feds subsides, the leash loosens. If feds get sent in anyway? idk
NYPD has, in previous years when Trump threatened to send in the feds, endeavored to show they had control of the city, that the feds weren’t needed. It’s pretty reliable that when Trump starts teasing fed involvement in NYC, NYPD gets super Professional until things die down.
This is based on what’s been shared with me about ICE incidents and just my observations. If you notice, they’ve been pretty diligently quiet. Not really making a lot of noise, not doing media sprees. The vibes are very much keeping their heads down.
Tisch/NYPD seem extremely concerned about any possible involvement with ICE, whether that’s PDs helping or hindering or there being room to accuse them one way or the other. They seem to be particularly touchy about insinuations or speculation of any perceived (or real) slip-up or collab by NYPD that could be enough to give Trump/DHS cause to deploy National Guard on NYC for a full siege. It’s like the NYPD is trying to lay low.
It sounds like from DN she didn’t want them to interfere, but more info later makes it sound like she was concerned that NYPD cops would try to help ICE, not realizing or not caring that doing so is against the law?
“She made very clear to relevant teams that they should NOT be participating in any way, shape, or form in ICE activity.
NYPD was in the vicinity in case things got very bad… NYPD stepped in to diffuse when feds & protestors almost exploded, & to ensure people could protest.”
No info on which “law enforcement partners” told Tisch but doesn’t sound like the whole chaos/sizzle reel aspect was conveyed. NYPD did, however, anticipate it would spark protest and that’s why NYPD was nearby, led by Beaudette, who is considered to be the protest “expert.”
Rec’d more: Tisch was told in passing earlier that day, not by ICE but by other “law enforcement partners.” Press already knew. She notified NYPD of operation & that city law prohibits assisting ICE. Protest detail cops (Beaudette) were deployed in anticipation of protest.
ICE/CBP are expanding their targets in LA after months of daily raids.
Calls are circulating to step up community defense amid these escalating attacks as attention (and coverage) wanes.
CHANGING TACTICS, THE SAME VIOLENCE -
CBP & ICE are expanding their targets & shifting tactics. 2x this week, they've targeted the Salvadorean Corridor, one of LA's most iconic street markets. In addition to larger raids, they're snatch & grabbing people off the street at random.
Mamdani transition team announces raising over $500k in 30 hours since announcing transition fundraiser, notes # of donors far exceeds that of Adams & DeBlasio but the avg amount is significantly smaller ($73 vs $1219 & $2392, respectively) due to “massive grassroots” campaign.
Press are set up on a riser and filling up 5 rows of seats waiting for the Mayor-elect to arrive. A sign is now affixed to the front of the podium w/the URL transition2025.com, a site for Mamdani’s transition with info on him and impending opportunity to apply for his admin.
Who tipped Tisch? Did they tell her it would be as big of a terror production as it tried being, or was it just a perfunctory notice that ICE would be active in the area?
New: NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch got a heads up from the Trump admin that ICE agents were about to conduct their aggressive Canal St. immigration raid — a revelation that could raise complex questions for Mamdani, who wants to as mayor keep her as PC. nydailynews.com/2025/11/06/n…
