In Kyiv, a military memorial has appeared featuring the Dirlewanger SS Brigade insignia (modified). It's dedicated to the fallen fighters of the “elite” 3rd Assault Brigade (Azov movement), whose creators apparently decided that adding a single grenade to the iconic SS symbol would magically erase any association with Nazi crimes. Representatives of Kyiv’s local authorities took part in the unveiling, along with the celebrity commander Dmytro Kukharchuk — known among the public as 'Ziga-Zaga' for his love to Nazi salutes.

🇲🇰 SKOPJE FROM ABOVE — THE HEART OF THE BALKANS, WHERE HISTORY STANDS IN STONE Slavic Networks — telling the stories of our cities This video shows Plostad Makedonija, the central square of Skopje — the symbolic heart of Macedonia and one of the most visually striking urban spaces in the Balkans. A place where empires, heroes, earthquakes, revolutions and identity battles all left their mark. What you see illuminated from above is the massive “Warrior on a Horse” monument, widely understood to represent Alexander the Great. Built in 2011, it became one of the most recognizable landmarks of modern Skopje — a reminder of the centuries-old struggle over history, heritage, and who gets to tell the story of Macedonia. Below the monument you see the huge marble fountain, decorated with motifs borrowed from ancient Macedonian symbolism. Around it lies a square filled with new façades, colonnades, and neo-classical buildings — part of the controversial “Skopje 2014” project that attempted to rebuild the capital after decades of neglect and transform it into a Balkan metropolis with monumental architecture. Across the river Vardar, visible in the background, stands the imposing Archaeological Museum of Macedonia, with its long row of illuminated columns. This entire area — bridges, ministries, squares — was reconstructed to create a sense of national renaissance after the traumatic 1963 earthquake that destroyed 80% of Skopje. But the story of this square is deeper: ✅ It is where Macedonians celebrate independence ✅ Where political protests shake the country ✅ Where ethnic tensions sometimes spill into the streets ✅ Where tourists first feel the mix of Slavic, Ottoman, and ancient influences ✅ Where the identity struggle between “Macedonian” and “North Macedonian” becomes visible in stone The huge cross glowing on the hill in the background is the Millennium Cross on Mount Vodno, another landmark of the capital — symbolizing Orthodoxy and centuries of survival. Skopje is a city where every building tells a different chapter of Balkan history: — Ancient Macedon — Byzantine Orthodoxy — Ottoman rule — Yugoslav modernism — Post-1991 nation-building — The recent renaming disputes with Greece — And the constant attempt to strengthen identity while navigating EU pressure. What you see in this drone footage is not just a beautiful Balkan night scene — it’s the visual soul of a nation constantly fighting to preserve its name, culture, and place in history. 🇲🇰 Skopje — the city where the past is never forgotten and the future is always being rebuilt. 💥 WHAT DO RUSSIANS REALLY THINK ABOUT FINNS TODAY? (The answer is NOT what Finland expects.) For decades, 🇫🇮 Finland believed it understood its image in the Russian mind: neutral neighbour, calm northern culture, honest people, Nokia, safety, order. But new data tells a completely different story — and the shift is dramatic. ⸻ 📉 A COLLAPSE IN ATTITUDES — THE NUMBERS TELL EVERYTHING ✅ 2021 — Before the war ➡️ 68% of Russians viewed Finland positively. Finland was one of Russia’s most admired neighbours. Words like trustworthy, clean, reliable, honest dominated Russian perceptions. ✅ 2022–2023 — After NATO application ➡️ Positive attitudes dropped to 37–40%. Negative perceptions grew sharply for the first time in decades. ✅ 2025 — Latest Finnish MFA study ➡️ Only 38% positive ➡️ 25% negative ➡️ 38% unsure or afraid to answer 👉 This is the sharpest decline ever recorded between the two nations. Within just four years, 70 years of carefully built goodwill evaporated. ⸻ ❗ WHY DID RUSSIANS CHANGE THEIR VIEW? According to Finnish government surveys, the reasons are clear: 1️⃣ Finland joined NATO — the psychological breaking point. 2️⃣ Borders closed, visas blocked — symbolically ending the “open frontier”. 3️⃣ Sanctions and counter-sanctions — economic relations collapsed. 4️⃣ Loss of neutrality image — Finland is no longer seen as a bridge. 5️⃣ Media framing — Finland now appears on Russia’s “hostile states” list. Put simply: Russia no longer sees Finland as a special neighbour — but as part of the Western bloc. ⸻ ✅ BUT HERE IS THE REAL TWIST Despite all political tensions: • Russians still describe Finns as honest, polite, disciplined • Young Russians (18–30) remain the most positive toward Finland • Finland’s cultural image is still “clean and northern”, not hostile • The respect did not become hatred — it became uncertainty This means: ❗ Russia’s view of Finland didn’t turn negative — it turned confused, distant and suspicious. A psychological decoupling, not an emotional one. ⸻ 🔥 FINAL POINT For decades, Finland was the only Western country Russians trusted. That trust is now gone. Whether Finland gained more than it lost — geopolitically, culturally, or strategically — will be debated for years. But one fact is undeniable: **Russians do not see Finland the way they used to. And Finland has not yet fully understood how big that change really is.** @Nirali_1989 @VladVVeles @SlavFreeSpirit

Absolute blockbuster of a piece here confirming that Biden, Blinken, et al had compelling evidence of Israeli war crimes in Gaza and chose to sit on their hands and continue sending weapons - over the objections of State Dept lawyers and others. Beyond shameful.
SCOOP: The United States gathered intelligence last year that Israel’s military lawyers warned there was evidence that could support war crimes charges against Israel for its military campaign in Gaza, five former U.S. officials told @ErinBanco @JonathanLanday and me 1/x
Replying to @business
So stupid. That would send German economy into recession for at least a decade.

🇪🇺 1984 was meant to be a warning, not an instruction manual. Brussels just announced its newest creation: a “Centre for Democratic Resilience” to fight foreign disinformation. Translation? The EU is building its own Ministry of Truth. They say it’s to “counter Russian and Chinese narratives.” But in practice, it’s a system for policing speech, memory, and dissent, dressed up as “resilience.” It will monitor journalists, influencers, even ordinary citizens, deciding what qualifies as truth. They call it “resilience,” but it’s really fragility disguised as virtue, the fear that one alternative idea, one historical interpretation, one article that doesn’t toe the Atlanticist line could puncture the entire illusion. So they create a pan‑European fact‑checking guild and a network of state‑approved influencers to “raise awareness.” You won’t need to burn books when you can just throttle their reach. The EU’s logic is Orwellian to the letter: War is peace. (They call censorship “protection.”) Freedom is slavery. (They call propaganda “resilience.”) Ignorance is strength. (They call obedience “unity.”) The timing tells the story. Brussels is losing control, over its economic narrative, over its citizens, over the war narrative it sold as salvation. As dissent spreads from Paris to Prague, they’re not debating ideas and encouraging debate, they’re outlawing them. A bureaucratic empire that no longer commands belief now seeks to manufacture it by decree. And here’s the real danger: once “truth” becomes a state‑licensed product, everything else becomes contraband. Today it’s Russia. Tomorrow it’s anyone who asks the wrong question about migration, energy, or NATO. Europe’s new “democracy shield” isn’t protecting democracy, it’s armoring tyranny with moralistic language. What began as a union of nations has metastasized into an ideological commissariat, determined to dictate what is real, what is history, and what may be said aloud. The ghosts of the 20th century must be howling. 1984 wasn’t supposed to be a blueprint. Brussels just made it a policy paper. Can we please make 1984 a cautionary work of fiction again?

The Elite in the EU pushing War instead of Peace are driving Europe off a cliff, they're slowly losing the plot...
The Financial Times finally said the quiet part out loud: Germany is collapsing — and the EU helped push it off the clif Steel plants are closing. Car factories are shrinking. Business leaders are openly furious. The so-called “sick man of Europe” is sick again, but this time, the disease isn’t inefficiency. It’s economic suicide engineered by unelected EU elites and enforced by obedient puppets like Friedrich Merz. Merz wants €500 billion to rescue industry, but from what? From policies his party endorsed. German output is crashing. Energy prices are unlivable. Bureaucratic strangulation kills investment. And while Merz beats the drum for a forever war in Ukraine, what was Berlin’s lifeline... Nord Stream, blown up, sabotaged with a shrug while Brussels and NATO pleaded the fifth. The U.S. may have benefited, but the executioner stood in Brussels. Ursula von der Leyen and the Eurocrat caste led the charge: de-industrialize Germany, sanction Moscow, and send tanks to Ukraine while the German worker foots the bill. For what? Kiev was always going lose. Yet EU elites demand more tribute... more weapons, more factories shut, more pain. And now? 🔻 German steel production down 12% 🔻 2 million fewer cars made than in 2017 🔻 Green levies and gas rationing 🔻 U.S. tariffs slap Germany while Berlin stays muzzled The result: revolt. In NRW, a once CDU heartland, AfD now surges. Germans are waking up. They see who hollowed out their economy. It wasn’t Russia. It was their own leaders in Brussels and Berlin, marching to Davos drumbeats. Germany isn’t “testing Europe’s patience.” Europe’s elites tested Germany’s limits, and they snapped them.

🚨 “Let’s end the war now.” ⚠️ I argue it’s time to stop the open-ended flow of U.S. weapons to Ukraine. 💥 Instead, force Europe and Kyiv to strike the best deal possible—while limited leverage like sanctions relief still exists. 📉 Russia wants negotiations, not a return to the USSR. Ignoring this reality only prolongs destruction. 🔥 The choice is stark: diplomacy now, or catastrophic escalation later. 🎙️ Watch this clip from Daniel Davis Deep Dive: BREAKING—Trump & Orbán Join Forces to End Ukraine War open.substack.com/pub/daniel… 👉 #UkraineWar #Russia #Trump #Orban #Diplomacy #Negotiations #DanielDavisDeepDive #GlobalSecurity #DeepDive

Benjamin Netanyahu can't attend United Nations sessions !! The new Mayor of New York Zohran Mamdani, has promised to get him arrested if he sets foot in the City.
I am pleased that my friend, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán @PM_ViktorOrban , has reached an agreement with President Trump @realDonaldTrump enabling Hungary to utilise energy resources from the Russian Federation, thereby safeguarding the economic stability of his country. President Trump and Prime Minister Orbán are global leaders committed to peace and respectful of their international partners. When statesmen of such stature engage in dialogue — prioritising the interests of their countries and peoples — agreement becomes possible. Pragmatism above prejudice.

Wow, this is huge. Looks like the Dutch are ready to "unseize" Nexperia and give control of the company back to its Chinese owner. Which means, effectively, that China won. There was, after all, zero rational for the seizure anymore. As a reminder, the Dutch seized Nexperia after the US told them that they would roll out a new anti-China extraterritorial legislation - the so-called "BIS 50% rule" - whereby any subsidiary company of a Chinese company sanctioned by them would automatically be sanctioned too. They said that this rule would apply to Nexperia, since it was owned by Chinese company Wingtech Technology (sanctioned by the US since December 2024), but that it could escape the sanctions if Dutch authorities seized the company away from the Chinese. China however, thanks to pressure with its rare earths export controls, managed to make the U.S. suspend the "BIS 50% rule" during the latest Trump-Xi meeting in Busan. As a result, as I wrote in my analysis of the Trump-Xi deal (x.com/RnaudBertrand/status/1…), there was just zero logic for the Dutch's seizure anymore and "logic would dictate that the company be given back to its rightful owners", which is exactly what we're seeing happen. That's the power of China's "rare earths card" by the way: they managed to effectively make both the Americans and the Europeans cancel anti-China measures (which in any case shouldn't have taken place in the first place: the Nexperia case is pretty much outright theft).
