The National Cattlemen’s Beef Association (NCBA)** represents big beef producers and often lobbies on behalf of major meatpacking interests (like Tyson, Cargill, JBS, etc.).

Why would @POTUS support @SecRollins hiring @TysonFoods executive, Justin Ransom to lead @USDAFoodSafety? Wouldn’t this be is a blatant conflict of interest since Tyson Foods is the largest of the “Big Four” meatpacker oligopoly (alongside JBS, Cargill, and National Beef)? How can Ransom ethically oversee the ongoing @USDA investigations of his former company’s @TysonFoods business practices and continue pursuing lawsuits against them for pollution and worker rights violations amid calls for antitrust breakup? Government watchdogs claim that Ransom has a long history of lobbying the @USDA to deregulate USDA controls over the “monopoly-like power,” of the Big Four Processors at the expense of American farmers (earning pennies per pound), their workers (high turnover, low pay), and degradation of rural farming communities fighting waste being dumped into freshwater aquifers.
