Simple SwiftUI shader to represent ideas in Dream Machine 🫧✨
Future is wild
.@jieyijeee and @mrjonfinger test Nano Banana with Dream Machine Modify Video by @LumaLabsAI for consistent character replacement.
It’s time!! Rapid iteration makes a huge difference ✨ and finally HDR 🥹…
This is Ray3. The world’s first reasoning video model, and the first to generate studio-grade HDR. Now with an all-new Draft Mode for rapid iteration in creative workflows, and state of the art physics and consistency. Available now for free in Dream Machine.

View of Starship landing burn and splashdown on Flight 10, made possible by SpaceX’s recovery team. Starship made it through reentry with intentionally missing tiles, completed maneuvers to intentionally stress its flaps, had visible damage to its aft skirt and flaps, and still executed a flip and landing burn that placed it approximately 3 meters from its targeted splashdown point

What the…
DINOv3 seems very good at matching objects across environments as well

Final - and my personal favorite - make the 5x5 image Animatable and now SwiftUI can smoothly animate your backgrounds, with 0 blurs or ugly crossfades. Bonus: add some swirls in there and get yourself some Apple Music backgrounds 🎛️ That's all, beauty in simplicity! (6/6)

If you only want dominant colors - just do a quick k-means on the 25 pixels, add some contrast, and get a pretty good color palette 🎨 You can run the same algorithm on groups of images and use the output to influence your shaders 🧑‍🎨 (5/6)

You can basically upsample the 5x5 and get a good approximation of the full resolution blur before your asset has even downloaded. This is great for image placeholders, detail backgrounds, glows, etc. + you avoid a lot of heavy blur passes which can really tank performance in dense media galleries. (4/6)

The first unlock you get get is that you'll never need placeholders again while your assets are loading! This feels great, especially on slower networks, since you can basically navigate your library even if things haven't loaded using colors as landmarks :) (3/6)

Only thing you need is to store a 5x5 downsampled version of every image alongside its metadata (url, size, etc.). For 8bit/channel it's just 25 * 3 = 75 bytes (2/6)

Apps should be more colorful! 🌈 This is one of my favorite tricks from Dream Machine - for just +75 bytes you get beautiful colors, animatable gradients and super fasts blurs 😊 (1/6)
Why is this company the first to jump on every grift 😭
nah i’m good

splats straight out of a storybook or pensieve -- 3d line drawing examples by amrit are everything i ever have wanted to do with 3d captures his website has experiments using gan for converting the images to geometrically correct line drawings then swap images post sfm, pre-training - link after

Wild to think of what future game engines will look like...
Genie 3 feels like a watershed moment for world models 🌐: we can now generate multi-minute, real-time interactive simulations of any imaginable world. This could be the key missing piece for embodied AGI… and it can also create beautiful beaches with my dog, playable real time

So excited to share one of my white-whale projects: a fully physics-based, holographic foil shader. Each pixel simulates a ray of light diffracting into a rainbow of waves, which add and subtract to create these incredible patterns. Not a single gradient was used here!

That's not to say that you won't have smart themes / configurations and a ton of personal apps that surface information in the exact way you want, but general structure of apps & websites I think has a good chance of surviving.
Websites aren't just wrappers around services, they're how creators tell a story and communicate value. In a world of near infinite products & services, efficient communication of capabilities is actually really important - and the most efficient way to communicate is often visual. I think there's a good chance in the future agents also obsess about their landing pages, conversion, IA, just like humans :)
Why would an AI agent use a human website? thats like asking you to ride a one size fits all bicycle when you can build a custom motorcycle sized to your body's particular ergonomics in 5 seconds Obviously they are gonna build their own sites on top, then just use those

Just tested the new Modify feature from @LumaLabsAI We’re entering an era where anyone with a good story in mind & a phone in hand can direct their own film. The future of storytelling keeps being written.
