i feel so detached from people after i remove myself from them... it feels like whatever relationship we ever had didn’t even happen and whenever i think about it, it feels fake. like it was a dream or something. what is that??

You keep going because the alternative is a betrayal of your own conscience. The community you lost was built on a conditional connection—one that required you to ignore reality for the sake of comfort. The community you have now, even if it's scattered across the internet, is built on the radical foundation of care. You move forward for the person you still are: the one who values evidence, who protects the vulnerable, who didn't abandon their ethics when it became inconvenient. It's exhausting. But you are not keeping a vigil for the past. You are holding a line for a future worth having. The "how" is one breath, one N95, one small act of self-respect at a time.
hello covid conscious people who don't really have community anymore after watching everyone you ever loved just go back to "normal" & refuse to keep themselves or anyone else safe like nothing is happening how do you keep going for real? how do you keep wanting to move forward??

y'all really tell on yourselves when you pocket-watch and fake-claim disabled people for having the audacity to • smile • have pets • be an ambulatory mobility aid user • fall in love • have sex • own a smartphone • be unable to work • be able to work • work from home • need a caretaker • not need a caretaker • exist in public • have friends WE GET IT! you think disabled people have to be miserable all the time. if you observe our humanity, you think we MUST be faking our disabilities. the 21st century has no place for this magnitude of belligerent ignorance. grow the fuck up.

What is happening to so many COVID-conscious people has a name: social exclusion. If this is a new feeling for you, it can be incredibly confusing and painful. For many of us who have always been "outsiders," the mask is just one more reason on a long list. But now you're feeling it: the conversations that die, the invitations that stop, the silence where your concerns used to be. This is not an accident. Our society uses exclusion—excommunication, exile, ostracism—as a penalty for non-conformity. It is a tool to enforce the status quo. The pain you feel is real. It's called an exclusion injury, and it registers in the brain similarly to physical pain. Your body is telling you a truth: that connection is being severed as a punishment. This is article discusses the research of Matthew Lieberman: inknownative.com/blog/exclus… Link to Lieberman's book: amazon.com/Social-Why-Brains… @TMaritanoAquino
Last year I started taking screenshots of posts that expressed the extraordinarily strange experiences that I, & others in our little Covid-aware corners, are having. This was the 1st; now I have 100’s. My phone is a documentary, a witness to a trauma unknown to most.

Spite. Most of the world is okay leaving us for dead, but I’m not gonna go quietly. I’m going to try my best to find some joy with the time I have left, even if I have to do it alone. I also allow myself to grieve, a lot, for the life I had + the future I thought I would have.

anti-covid people are so unnecessarily cruel all the time to those who just want to keep themselves and those around them safe from a terrifying illness that disables and kills without discrimination and with no end in sight.

Hey everyone, I'm excited to share that AirFanta Wear is now live on air-fanta.com/products/airfa…. You'll find a thorough product breakdown and a detailed video I made explaining a lot of things about it. piped.video/watch?v=dub-mm1m… We've sent some stock by sea to the warehouses in US, UK, EU, Australia, and Canada (est. 35-50 days). But if you need it urgently, we can ship directly from our China facility by air. Really hoping this can be helpful. If you have any question, please leave a comment or send email to airfanta@air-fanta.com.
was talking to someone whose partner is currently in hospital with some kind of pneumonia that isn't working with antibiotics. it makes me want to scream when people talk about these things to me and they don't mask

something i’ve been mulling on for a while is that if you’re not willing to lose relationships over your moral beliefs then you don’t really believe them. it makes you feel good to say you do, but when it comes to practicing what you preach, you are sorely lacking gumption.
