After DHS agents descended upon a Home Depot in Los Angeles in June, @LATenantsUnion spent the summer experimenting. @tracyrosenthal_ reports on how organizers built a long-term protective presence for Issue No. 8. hammerandhope.org/article/lo…

Ms Rachel had a message for @nytimes: Words matter. NYT’s Gaza coverage is genocide denial, not journalism.

Refusing to write for the @nytimes is a tactic to undermine its fatal prestige and extract consequences for its service to imperialism & zionism, convincing even more people to cancel their subscriptions. It’s working, which is why liberals who collude with fascists are upset.
Self-cancellation is a really strange tactic theatlantic.com/ideas/archiv…

The ICE raids in LA have been deadly, but day laborers urge us to fight back not despair.
I spent a week with volunteers keeping a daily ICE watch in LA’s MacArthur Park. Their Home Depot was the site of the first mass raid on Los Angeles, and their defense center is a model for how we all might fight back.

I got to talk with two of the smartest people I know -- @realLandsEnd and @tracyrosenthal_ -- about BORN IN FLAMES. Check out the latest @DeathPanel_ here
In our latest, we speak with @benchansfield about “riot prone areas,” moral hazard, how landlords burned the Bronx in the 1970s, and their new book Born in Flames: The Business of Arson and the Remaking of the American City patreon.com/posts/142681697

Full blown psychotic episode in paragraph form. Get help.
From @WSJopinion: Zohran Mamdani’s victory would imperil Jews and embolden totalitarians everywhere in the world. If New York falls, the entire free world may again totter on its foundations, writes @BHL. on.wsj.com/4oq42AL

Good quote, Mr. Frontrunner for NYC Mayor.
September, 2023. Zohran Mamdani: "We have to make clear that when the boot of the NYPD is on your neck, it's been laced by the IDF."

Writing for the NYT op ed section was good for my career, but I simply do not feel right contributing again until the paper fixes their egregious and obvious anti-Palestinian bias problem. I am proud to sign this boycott with many writers I admire and I hope more people join.

More than 300 writers, scholars, and public figures, including nearly 150 past New York Times contributors, have pledged to boycott the paper’s Opinion section under the banner “Genocide Is Not a Matter of Opinion.” They are demanding that the Times conduct an independent review of anti-Palestinian bias and publish new editorial standards, retract its discredited “Screams Without Words” article, and that its Editorial Board call for a U.S. arms embargo on Israel. Signatories include Rashida Tlaib, Sally Rooney, Rupi Kaur, Gabor Maté, Mohammed El-Kurd, Greta Thunberg — and Drop Site’s Alex Colston and Sharif Abdel Kouddous — among others.

Genocide is not a matter of opinion
BREAKING: 300+ writers, scholars & public figures refuse to write for the New York Times Opinion section in a collective effort to hold the paper accountable for its role in the genocide in Gaza.

“Tax the rich” is Hamas.
Every time I hear Mandami’s anti- Semitic base shouting “Tax the Rich”, what I really thing they are saying is “Tax the Jews.” They are obsessed with bashing Israel and wealthy Jewish New Yorkers like @BillAckman . Connect the dots . @GovKathyHochul going along with this is repulsive. And having Jewish Bernie there for cover redefines the phrase “useful idiots.” This whole thing really gives me the creeps. Just vote @andrewcuomo tomorrow if you haven’t done so already. Let’s send the message hate has no place in NYC. @OneCityRisingNY @JCAndersonNYC @RezaC1 @Megmd514 @TaliGoldsheft @AlizaLicht @LattinaBrown @HikindDov @TheRealSPONY @savetheuws @SoupandtheCity @stick_dynamite @Hoodview @InnaVernikov @TonyLTalks @TheKvetcher @david_sivella @TheJewishAlly @RealTonyHerbert @queens_parents @ycinnewyork @GaryTilzer @GAGreenberg
