We have been collecting high-resolution imagery of Jamaica, Cuba, Haiti, and the Dominican Republic, and we are making pre- and post-event imagery available for free to help accelerate response, relief, and recovery efforts across the region. We are continuing to collect post-event imagery in the coming days, and new imagery will be uploaded to the Discover portal as it is processed. All imagery is made available under a Creative Commons 4.0 license.
This imagery can be used by frontline organizations and geospatial community members to map changes on the ground and identify the most severely impacted areas, helping ensure resources are allocated quickly and effectively.
Images collected a few hours ago showing flooding and damage caused by Hurricane Melissa in Jamaica. The first two images are of Black River in southwest Jamaica. The third image is of White House, a village known for its role in the local fishing industry. And the fourth is of Montego Bay.
