There's essays upon essays on youtube about this one baby game being an actual trauma-inducing liminal space nightmare because there are dimly light rooms in the game

You obviously never actually watched any of said essays, because it's way more than just 'dimly light rooms'.

I'm sooo sorry that the baby game about dreams with a peekaboo combat system and collecting cookies isn't soiling my crinkly diaper >_< I'll age regress better next time I swear

Payed this game a ton growing up, and it indeed is super creepy as a kid to play alone. Each level is meant to be dreams from the characters. So some are nightmares. And sometimes you have to scare off heffalumps and woozles. Many hours we'd spend on the library level (easily the spookiest) and we couldn't get past because we'd always be missing a required cookie.

And it's probably some dweeb handholding their newly purchased Shure SM7B, then poorly edited on top of their background, and they pace back and forth rambling about something that's actually a "the curtains are f*****g blue" scenario.

The transition from video essays being high effort documentarys by big nerds to being nonsense by people who don’t know how to edit, was real sad.

The game was literally designed, as admitted by the director, to be “Silent Hill For Kids”.

I played this game The constant LA LA everytime you collect cookies completely ruins the scary atmosphere lol Also "dying" just makes you reset the level There's nothing terrifying about this game

Look, I get that some of the videos blow it a bit out of proportion, but you can't claim that the comparisons to horror games is entirely unfounded. (Source Wikipedia)

It was literally elevator pitched as a survival horror game for preschoolers, and that's exactly what it is, despite what you'd expect from the box art.

I played the PC version of this game, probably why I don’t remember anything being “traumatizing” 😂
