To clear it up for the confused in the comments: what this means is that, because it’s short, you can quickly tick off another “book finished” towards your Goodreads challenge or whatever. The girls set a number and orient their entire reading habit around it.

The people that post crazy numbers and they listen to audiobooks at X4 the speed give me a chuckle. Imagine listening to Alvin and the Chipmunks narrating books all the time. I fear for their sanity.

2025 is the first year I've entirely abandoned a "reading goal" and I feel like it's only ever benefited my reading. I don't avoid the whole numbers game entirely but keeping up a daily goal (right now I'm aiming towards 70m of reading per day) makes far far more of a difference

Pretty sure I've read introductions (the pages numbered in tiny roman numerals) longer than that.
