We all know you need to build the right team for the journey.
The thinking is typically:
A) Define a great journey/destination
B) Find the right people to make it happen
There's nothing wrong with this. There are times, however, that with the right people around, you're willing to embark on a journey you'd never consider before...something that was uninspiring becomes a fun adventure.
For a while, I've been superficially interested in VO2 max testing (through the lens of longevity) but it seemed like a chore...another thing I 'should do'. A close friend of mine in San Francisco expressed the same sentiment. Then, another close friend in Los Angeles said the same.
Now, there is a hilarious trash-talking text thread and some money on the line for the end of the year. Yes, I want my $5 and will do endure some real suffering to get it.
The destination/journey matters a lot. Just consider that great people and great relationships may expand what journeys you're willing to embark on.
