following now is basically irrelevant they say due to how the newer algos function. time to get rid of the subscribe and follow buttons. you communicate how much you like something based on how long you spend with each post. duh.
users will have fine grained controls on what they see and don't see. no more hijacking the user's limbic system.
no ads and if ads ever come at some point in the future they will not be interpreted as ads, rather they will be seen as the right product showing up at the right time (at peak need)
proof of humanity powered by something controversial and wild. the world is not currently ready. the culture is not ready but it's coming because it's required to solve the incoming AI agent/bot problem
no more dumb AI content (even if it looks good). ok maybe that is semi-extreme but if a user only wants to see human generated content then there will be a way to do that. this is a platform requirement. the tech that will power proof of humanity will tie into this.
also there will be ways to find content and users by location to facilitate real world connections and events. this is severely lacking currently.
security and safety will be major efforts. community will likely be self-policed. AI will also be used to flag content and auto-report to authorities. that would be the ideal. to create a sophisticated evil content reporter. no human besides law enforcement would need to see it.
oh yeah and it would be open source and ultra transparent. that is an obvious must. monetization comes from the ad system that could appear when the platform is mature and by the hardware platform that powers proof of humanity.

Can't be done because AI will ruin it.
There are places and ways AI can be used that can solve current social media problems. But the incentives have to be correct.
