Gotta say, my brain works much better on 8 hours of regular, natural sleep.

Sad truth. I’ve tried it all including polyphasic schedule (before kids). Nothing beats good consistent 8 hours.

Yup. Just went to bed at 9:30, felt tired, woke up at 6, and it was like someone slipped me an adderall. I should do this more.

a friend does research at Stanford on sleep. he told me humans need 7.5 hours of sleep. I started following that and it works.
