"This is where the journey to recovery starts." Over the past 3.5 weeks, @WFP has distributed food parcels to over one million people in the #Gaza Strip. "We need more border crossings to be opened and more access to key roads inside Gaza," says @AbeerEtefa.

#Gaza: "With a daily average of ~ 560 tons of food, we're still below what we need. Roads are blocked & destroyed, which is a huge limitation to transport." @WFP "It is very important to have these openings in the north as we've heard, that's where the famine took hold" @UNOCHA
Greater access through all crossing points is needed to contain the spread of famine. news.un.org/en/story/2025/10…

Daily deliveries of aid continue to enter Gaza as the fragile ceasefire holds. So far, @WFP delivered 6,700 tons of food, enough for half a million people for 2 weeks. But the current daily delivery of 750 tonnes is still below the target of 2,000 tonnes, stresses @AbeerEtefa.

Thank you, Egypt, for enabling @WFP to expand humanitarian access and our ability to reach people in Sudan, Gaza and beyond. Important discussion with Minister Abdelatty on how we can strengthen our partnership even further. #UNGA80
Humanitarian operations in Gaza continue to be strangled. Food stocks are in perilously short supply. It’s time to flood Gaza with food and reach all families, wherever they are. via @WFP

Continued cuts to @WFP’s emergency operations will deepen hunger, fuel instability, and make the world far less safe. We urge world leaders to weigh the consequences. With conflicts & extreme hunger surging, pulling support doesn’t just cost lives—it undermines global stability.
STATEMENT: WFP is deeply concerned by recent notifications from the US administration indicating that funding for emergency food assistance in 14 countries has been terminated. 🔵If implemented, this could amount to a death sentence for millions of people facing extreme hunger and starvation. We are in contact with the US administration to seek clarification and to urge for continued support for these life-saving programmes. 🔵WFP is grateful for the contributions it receives from the US and all its donors. Our staff continue to work tirelessly to reach vulnerable communities with vital food assistance in hunger hot spots around the world.

#Ceasefire The first @WFP trucks have started crossing from Egypt through Kerem Shalom/Karam Abu Salem into #Gaza. WFP can send around 30,000 tons of food each month to reach over 1 million people. All border crossings must remain open & function efficiently & reliably.
The people of #Syria have suffered for far too long. Millions are displaced, food insecurity is rampant, and people long for peace. @WFP remains committed to reaching those in need wherever we can. We call on all parties to ensure the protection of civilians and humanitarians.
🚨Thousands of families still in #Rafah need aid. @WFP distributed food until it ran out. With little aid coming in from southern crossings & our warehouse still inaccessible, remaining food stocks have only supported 50K hot meals a day. 📣We need safe & sustained access.

After 6 months of conflict, everyone in Gaza is hungry. There is a grave risk of famine in the north. Humanitarian supplies and staff must be able to move freely and safely to prevent further loss of life due to starvation. via @WFP
6 months into the conflict, everyone in #Gaza is hungry. Famine is ever closer in the North. We need humanitarian staff and supplies to be able to move freely and safely across Gaza. It’s a case of surge or starvation.
#Gaza Thanks CNN for staying with the story
In the wake of the tragic killing of seven #WorldCentralKitchen aid workers in an #Israeli strike some aid groups are suspending operations in #Gaza - @AbeerEtefa @WFP says, “The only way for aid workers to operate safely in Gaza is with a humanitarian #ceasefire

“In a darkening world, @‌UNRWA is the one ray of light for so many. We must not take that hope away.” This past week, @antonioguterres visited a health centre in Jordan, and met young Palestinian refugee students benefitting from @UNRWA 's work in the region.
Today I saw long lines of blocked relief trucks waiting to be let into Gaza. It’s time to truly flood Gaza with life-saving aid. The choice is clear: surge or starvation. Let’s choose the side of help, the side of hope & the right side of history. I will not give up.
