Google is now selling a *literal* AI spam machine 🤖 Google advertises "Opal" as ideal for "creating" scaled AI content like: -"optimized" AI blog posts -fake imagery -AI travel planning content blog.google/technology/googl…
Selkirk locomotive used to go to Banff and Revelstoke from Calgary on our originally dually appointed rail lines of what was once our national transport. Imagine a modern diesel electric taking people on existing lines. Solve housing and transport issues. #yyc #yyccc #ableg

It has come to my attention that earlier this week there was an order issued prohibiting individuals working in certain court facilities from wearing poppies while on duty in those locations. This order was issued under the guise that the poppy is somehow a ‘political statement.’ This is disgusting. The poppy is not a political statement. It is a symbol of remembrance and respect for the fallen and those who served and continue to serve our country. Poppies have been worn in Canada since 1921. We have courts and a democracy because of the courage of those who are willing to make the ultimate sacrifice in pursuit of, and in defence of, the very rights and freedoms we enjoy. The judges who issued this order are wrong. While I respect the independence of the judiciary, I respect veterans, the very people who made the ultimate sacrifice defending our country, our values and our democracy, more. It is not lost on me that our veterans fought so we can enjoy the freedoms the courts uphold. That’s why I find it impossible to believe any judge would ban a symbol of respect for the fallen, our veterans and their families. I stand firmly behind anyone who wants to wear a poppy in their workplace. Because of the actions of these judges, if necessary, I will introduce The Nova Scotia Remembrance Observance Act that will enshrine the right to wear a poppy in the workplace from November 1 to November 11.
Freud’s model of human psyche is too deterministic of self and ignores what I call the hyperego (the extension of self sociologically). The DSM alone has 8 terms that use social in it and most issues stem from sociological impact (but obviously not all).
People self medicate because of mental health issues. In the 80’s our ‘mental’ hospitals dumped these people onto the streets and into poverty. 95% of rehab doesn’t work without ongoing counselling following. That said below is the right move. #ableg #abgov #abpoli
🦬💉🏥 : Manitoba Premier Wab Kinew wants to pass Bill 48 to put meth addicts into involuntary care to protect communities & the addicts themselves. BC NDP Premier David Eby could learn a thing or two from Wab Kinew about serving the public interest & public safety. Instead David Eby runs British Columbia like a crack house dealer who could care less about what happens to the surrounding community.

Many agencies push placement while ignoring the customer. SEO is and will continue to be people first. Google values experience and interactions equally as much as general ranking weights. A perfectly optimized website can tank if the consumer doesn’t receive it well. People 1st!

Russia offers hypersonic missiles to Venezuela, U.S. displaces unconstitutional leader in Venezuela on grounds of threat, actual elected leader sources missiles to Ukraine and also US for research 😆 Checkers

The problem with this budget is it takes away the market economy to self sustain through streamlined policy. We didn’t ask for Soviet style intervention but we did ask for government simply to get out of the way. They responded in larger budgets.
🚨𝗕𝗨𝗗𝗚𝗘𝗧 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 𝗦𝗨𝗠𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗬🚨 CBC: "The deficit is 𝘁𝘄𝗶𝗰𝗲 as high as what we saw from Chrystia Freeland in the fall economic budget and growth is 𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗳." -$78..3 Billion now -$322 Billion over 5 years -Temporary foreign immigration cut by half! Thoughts?
I’ve never seen so many searching for work icons in the tech industry ever on LinkedIn. I am not sure if this is a technological shift or an economic one. My clients are all growing but in some areas Google’s definitely buried anything organic.
Apparently X algorithm dampens accounts with the using of hashtags to which I often use (whoops). Political accounts and the like just have to hope the right audiences see things I guess. Lame @X
This is the equivalent of adding on the AB provincial deficit in its entirety every single year. Taxes will have to be raised or revenue will need to be significantly raised which means streamlining policy. The latter being most important from housing through trade. #cndpoli
Budget 2025 projected deficits: * 2025/26: $78B * 2026/27: $65B * 2027/28: $64B * 2028/29: $58B * 2029/30: $57B That's an additional in $322 billion of generational debt without a plan to ever return to balanced budgets. Ever.

No such clear cost effective carbon capture has yet hit commercial production yet. Recent developments have been made but we do need to live within the realms of supply demand and technological availability.

And People Inc. shared info about the impact of AIOs on Google referral traffic -> "The erosion of referral traffic as a direct result of Google AI overviews has continued. Currently, a total 24% of traffic comes via Google search, down from 60% of its traffic at the time it announced its merger in 2021, while AI Overviews’ penetration has steadily increased." digiday.com/media/people-inc…

Basically Ahrefs is acknowledging the mining of your company data. Useful but basically shared with everyone else as shown here 🙈
[New data]: Traffic from ChatGPT keeps growing every month, while traffic from Google keeps falling. [Based on data from ~67k websites connected to @Ahrefs’ free Web Analytics product → chatgpt-vs-google(DOT)com] Don't get too excited (or upset), though. - Google still owns 40.29% of all traffic. - ChatGPT sits at just 0.24%. Here's what's happening: Google keeps experimenting with "AI Mode" & rolling out more "AI Overviews," which provide for better user experience, but kill clicks to websites. ChatGPT is doing the opposite: they’re experimenting with showing website references. That obviously encourages clicks, but I doubt ChatGPT wants users clicking away too often. Hence the super slow growth in its traffic share. ... P.S. You can explore more numbers here → chatgpt-vs-google(DOT)com
Google is AI and when you optimize for people you optimize for AI. We simply structure in a way that appeals to both. Well placed, evergreen content in hyper relevant media is the way forward and builds on everyday SEO process.
ChatGPT sends just 0.24% of web traffic referrals Yet SEO snake oil salesmen still convince website owners to "optimize" for AI🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️
I think it would be good for @OpenAI and the like to work with these publishers somehow for the betterment of all. This would be so much better than the frequent yellow journalism cited. I want to see all the peer reviewed articles crawled actively to true intelligence. Worth it!
"...internal Slack messages and emails discussing the mass deletion of a pirated books dataset." OpenAI caught destroying evidence, oh boy.
SEMRush promoting doorway page style content that @Google specifically recommends not doing in their spam policy. “Keywords” pushing the narrative that this is a dead legacy SEO tool that doesn’t understand where we are now.
Programmatic SEO involves creating landing pages on a large scale to rank on search engine results pages (SERPs). It’s sometimes referred to as pSEO. Learn the difference between programmatic SEO and regular SEO here: social.semrush.com/49u8Jos.
