In October, we celebrated major AI breakthroughs, and added our helpful AI into even more of our products and services. Catch up on all of our AI updates from last month: -In a historic first, we announced Quantum Echoes, the first-ever algorithm to achieve verifiable quantum advantage on hardware. -At the Research@ event, we shared new updates to Google Earth AI, how our open-source AI model DeepSomatic is speeding up genetic analysis for cancer research, and more. -@GoogleDeepMind and @GoogleResearch teamed up with Yale to create Cell2Sentence-Scale, an AI model that helped discover a new potential cancer therapy pathway. -We announced a collaboration between @GoogleDeepMind and Commonwealth Fusion Systems (CFS) to apply advanced AI to accelerate the next generation of fusion energy. -The new Gemini 2.5 Computer Use model was released to developers and lets AI agents interact directly with user interfaces. -We rolled out significant updates to our AI filmmaking tool @FlowByGoogle that give people greater creative control and enhanced storytelling capabilities. -Our newest vibe coding features in @GoogleAIStudio lower the barrier to building AI-powered applications. -@GoogleCloud launched Gemini Enterprise, the new front door for Google AI in the workplace. -For Cybersecurity Awareness Month, we rolled out new security features to shield you from scams and AI threats, including new protections in Google Messages, a new AI agent for code security and more. -We launched Gemini for Home, upgrading your existing speakers and displays and making your cameras and doorbells smarter, along with new Nest and Google Home devices. -Google Skills, our new learning platform, launched and includes nearly 3,000 courses and labs to help you build expertise in AI and other technical areas. -And we launched Android XR and its first headset — the new Samsung Galaxy XR.

Our 7th gen TPU Ironwood is coming to GA!  It’s our most powerful TPU yet: 10X peak performance improvement vs. TPU v5p, and more than 4X better performance per chip for both training + inference workloads vs. TPU v6e (Trillium). We use TPUs to train + serve our own frontier models, including Gemini, and we’re excited to make the latest generation available to @googlecloud customers.

Now, Gemini’s Deep Research can pull in info from @Gmail, @GoogleDrive, and Chat when you connect your @GoogleWorkspace account to give you more context-aware reports. To try it, just select “Deep Research” in Gemini on desktop and choose your sources. Coming to mobile soon.

Now available for Gemini Pro and Ultra users on desktop, and rolling out to mobile users in the coming days.

Gemini has arrived as your hands-free driving assistant in the @GoogleMaps app. Find places along your route, check for EV availability, and share your ETA just by asking.  Gemini can also help with multi-step tasks like “find me a restaurant that serves vegetarian tacos within a couple of miles that has good parking.” Plus, we’re rolling out more landmarks along your route to help with navigation (no more guessing what "500 feet" means!) and much more.
