Breaking: A CBP agent was shot at near the Bridge of America Port of Entry in El Paso, Texas. Reports of a massive law enforcement response at both sides of the border (Mexican and US) in response to this shooting. Being told that the agent was not hit and sustained no injuries per anonymous law enforcement official.

NEW: A CBP agent was fired at by smugglers after they had crossed into the U.S. The smugglers fled back into Mexico and were apprehended by Mexican officials. Sources on the ground warn that tactics and aggression could escalate as smuggler organizations get more desperate due to stricter enforcement and enhanced security.
