Of course not. It's a Sumerian myth likely referring to the flooding of what is now the Persian Gulf. Rising sea levels at the end of ice age caused local flooding around the world. It may of been a folk memory, or maybe due to submerged ruins. Either way, they made up stories.

Gilgamesh. There were similar events in Russia, Europe and America. Even now we regularly see submerged forests off the coast of the UK. Nobody denies flooding. But really, you think multiple food chains from multiple continents walked and survived on a barge for 40days? Barmy
