VC's whining about losing deals because of valuation (i.e., the winning firm overpaid) is the moral equivalent of sales reps complaining about losing a deal because their competitor undercut them on price. Both are lies losers tell.

Tencent asked Riot to make a mobile version of LoL in 2015. Riot refused. Tencent made Honor of Kings. HoK has made $10B revenue and is the highest grossing mobile game of all-time. HoK finals just broke the record for esports attendance. Generational fumble from Riot.
The Opening Ceremony of the Honor of Kings KPL Grand Finals is underway in China 🇨🇳 Tencent and HOK are attempting a Guinness World Record for hosting the largest-ever Mobile Esports event at the 91,000-capacity Beijing National Stadium. The tickets for the tournament has been sold out within 12 seconds! 🏆Winner takes home $2,800,000 (₹24.8 Cr)!

Women be like: We want equality Also women: ACtUalLY yOu ShoULd PaY mORe TaxEs LoSEr ALSO WDYM 'more money more bitches' ?? BITCHES? IN THIS ECONOMY? Jessica PLEASE 😩
Yes. Men should have to pay extra taxes for being single after age 30. Those taxes can go towards financial incentives for married couples to have children. That solves birth rates. Boom. You’re welcome. The reason men specifically need to be taxed extra, especially above a certain tax bracket, is to eliminate the “more money, more bitches” incentive for success. Ideally a man’s incentive for success should come from providing for his family. It is best if men settle down you to avoid men wasting women’s reproductive years. Alternatively, maybe you can get out of “single tax” if you are in a new registered relationship for less than 2 years. That gets all the relationships registered so that people cannot cheat without the side pieces knowing. 😁

YC backs 5-10 versions of the same company every batch. For YC, this strategy works. They deploy $75M per batch across 150 companies anyway. One winner pays for five competitors when you're operating at that scale. If one becomes the breakout, the 7% they own covers the losses from backing the others. For VCs, the math is different. You’re concentrating capital in ~3-4 companies per quarter, not 150. We have to pick one, maybe two if the approaches are fundamentally different. The problem is beyond just portfolio construction. It's operational. You can't split attention between direct competitors. You can't share confidential information when both companies are asking for intros to the same customers. Most seed funds face this dilemma eventually. You back a company, then six months later a better team tackles the same problem with stronger traction. Some investors refuse to back competitors out of loyalty, then watch the better company rise and dominate the market. Others back multiple competitors and destroy trust with all of them when founders realize they're competing for the same investor's attention. Is it better to miss an opportunity than to create conflicts you can't manage? Concentration matters when you're trying to add real value beyond the check. YC can afford to spray and pray. Most seed investors can't.

If a startup requires you to be in the office 12 hours a day, 6+ days a week, you should run the fuck away like your life depends on it

Alright, time to spill the beans on giga. Got hired back in April to lead demand gen for them. Quit after the first day. Red flags everywhere. >”when we hit $10m arr, we’re going to spend $100k on ____”(illegal stuff) >”we’re doing $____ in mrr” (Dashboards in the hq show 6x less) >bait n switch on title, start date, comp, etc. >had 2 international weddings I need them to pre-approve to take time off. They said yes. After I signed contract, they said “well you need to pick who you’re better friends with bc you can’t do both weddings now” >”I chopped off a goats head in India bc it brings good luck” >in office, 7 days/week, 12 hr days. “Pto policy is subject to change at our discretion… you are expected to always be working” >gave offer letter on Wednesday, said I need to sign by Thursday, and start job Monday morning. I had 3 days to move from atx -> sf. >first day of work, I got in early. Founder walks in my direction, I stand up, extend my hand for a handshake. He snubs me - not even an acknowledgement. I just moved my entire life & drove 26 hours across the country & not even a “welcome to the team” or a hello. Easiest decision of my life to quit after first day. I rarely root against founders, but this is the epitome of what’s wrong with tech/ai now. Offer letter for proof.

These women are dangerous. They don't just want to cancel you, neuter you, leave you incel, they also want to tax you for not meeting their "standards." Please understand that all of female politics is about enslaving males.

They're literally inventing bachelor tax again we had a solution already, it was called "don't be a hooker and men will marry you" you didn't like it

A generation of women are realising that non-committal “forever boyfriends” are a very poor substitute for a husband and father of your children 👇
I told you this is what happens if you shack up with the first Japanese woman who gives you attention and don’t plan ahead. Now this guy’s in a situation where he’s knocked up a woman he isn’t even officially married to yet and he’d be a deadbeat in Japan. That poor kid.

There are success stories of foreigners who come to Japan and make it work with their Japanese SO, but the two biggest things that end relationships/marriages are money and disagreements over what country to live in. If you have no long-term plan, you’re destined for failure.
This is what Egypt has done by making Grand Egypt Museum with $1 billion. Egypt has given a permanent address to all its Pharaohs & Queens & Gods of ancient world. While countries like India fail to preserve even the new monuments, it is heartening to see this effort by 🇪🇬.

Marc Andreeson and YCombinator are funding gambling/porn/weapons/slop companies in an attempt to squeeze money out of an economy that stopped producing useful things at necessary scale a decade ago.
Marc primarily funds gambling apps, cheating apps, and bot farms. He does not want you to build things that are actually good for society.
