If you’re a Christian who posted a black square for George Floyd or “free Palestine,” but say nothing about your brothers and sisters in Nigeria and Sudan being slaughtered by Islamists, could it be that you never really cared about injustice but merely cared about looking nice and virtuous? Do you only care about something when the media tells you to? Do you ask yourself “what side is everyone on and what is everyone saying” before posting? If so, you’re just a conformist and not a moral agent.
