How @jhleath and @archildata keep costs down while making cloud data more efficient!
In this TWiST 500 exclusive, @Alex chats with Archil founder Hunter Leath about their unique approach to cloud infrastructure.
Archil offers a SaaS model, running a fleet of high-performance servers, which they use as a “mega shared cache” for cloud customers. This keeps costs low (they’re not building their own data centers and power supplies) BUT makes pulling your data from the cloud must faster and more effective.
Why didn’t the major cloud providers just design this system themselves? Cause it’s “tremendously difficult to do”… but also because they make money selling hard disk capacity that clients may not actually need.
Learn more about how Archil discovered and exploited this unique market opportunity in this This Week in Startups highlight.

We’ve raised our $350M Series C at a $10B valuation from @felicis, @benchmark, and @generalcatalyst.
Just 2 years after starting, Mercor is paying $1.5 million per day to experts in our marketplace.
We’re creating a new category of work in the AI economy, where software engineers, bankers, lawyers, and other professionals earn based on their experience while advancing the frontier of AI.
While most new categories take time to build momentum, we’ve broken every growth record. For comparison, in their first 2 years:
- Uber paid out just over a $1 million to drivers
- Airbnb paid out $10 million to hosts
We are unlocking human potential in the AI economy.
