In 2024 we paid over $100,000 to our credit card processor for the 'privilege' of accepting mostly debit/ATM card transactions. Swipe fees are one of the reasons we started accepting BTC in 2019.
Always, because then there is no swipe fee. The CC swipe fees is a scam run by two CC companies and it’s only going up. In some cases the swipe fees are the third largest restaurant expense behind food and labor.

I buddy of mine has a towing company. They had north of 3M in cc receipts last year. Square? (i think) tried to get in their shop and the told their bank about the competition and their bank dropped them down to less than 2% to protect the business.

We've been playing that game for years. It's as low as it can possibly get, trust me.

We use a Merchant Service called Titanium. It charges the processing fee to the customer. Why should I have to eat 3.5% just because you want points or you don't have the money? Then people go, "Why don't you charge 3.5% more?" Because that screws my cash paying customer.

People using a debit card definitely have the money in their account.

Just the swipe fee? Not including the cost of the merchandise?

Might I interest you in XMR? It’s the only coin the gov hasn’t cracked and is a large community. And fully private, unlike BTC. Oh, fees are around $.01-$0.5 per $100 transaction and takes around 2-20 mins.

As a small pool cleaning business, I don't let customers pay by credit card unless theyre willing to cover the 3% (which somehow is more than 3%)

To be honest though aren’t there tons of fees with bitcoin?

People don’t understand that these fees at best are creating inflation, at worst increasing the wealth of banks. The truth, somewhere in between. Think about that next time you swipe the card for a $5 or $10 purchase.

Talk to @deluxe_pepe he has been saving a lot of people a ton of money on CC transactions and he is a pretty amazing guy. I get nothing from this, just a solid patriot helping others

It’s a racket, they are thieves and swipe fees/transaction % should be illegal. They’re all in on it together and doesn’t matter where you look or what you try to get it lower, it’ll still be roughly the same 😒

I absolutely won’t pass on my fees to customers and won’t shop somewhere they add the fee. It should be priced in.

Swipe fees plus the % of the sale which can cost 1 1/2 to 5% of the sale plus the CC machines. I had 9 of those at 250.00 each per month. That was back in 2013 I image it has not improved.
