⚠️WARNING: This post describes a violent attack on law enforcement.
Border Patrol agents were fired at in a drive-by shooting in Chicago on Saturday during a routine operation. An unidentified male in a black Jeep opened fire on the agents before fleeing the scene.
According to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), "agitators" also threw paint cans and bricks at federal vehicles during the disturbance in the Little Village neighborhood. Two people were arrested in connection with the protests.
No officers were struck by the gunfire.
The DHS stated, "This incident is not isolated and reflects a growing and dangerous trend of violence and obstruction" targeting federal law enforcement. This follows several other recent violent confrontations and arrests involving ICE and protesters in the Chicago area.
