Tom Henderson just said on the Insider Gaming podcast that he doesn’t think GTA 6 will be delayed again and that it’s been content complete for a while now. The focus for the next year will be on making it as perfect and as stable as possible to avoid a Cyberpunk situation. He also thinks that if there’s a “single glitch that Rockstar can fix” then the game simply won’t come out. Rockstar aren’t going to release GTA 6 until it’s absolutely perfect. There’s no need to worry about the quality of the game itself when it does eventually come out.

if it's content ready and has been for a while, then how fucking much stuff do they need to polish???? this game is going to be generational in 2027.

Obviously he’s using hyperbole. The point he’s making is that it’ll be as close to perfect as possible

Surely the Cover Art is done by now. We should get something soon right?

Yeah fucking right. I garuntee there will be shit wrong w this game when it comes out. It is unavoidable. This fake loyalty to the fan base is BS. If they really cared about the players, they'll sell this for let's say $30. This is all about increasing profits. That's all.

This is just insane. Why on earth would any business, not even just a gaming company, charge less than half of the industry standard? Get real.

I speak for most GTA fans when I say - Take as long as you need, even until 2030 and beyond. We want a finished product, not some rushed slop! Gta 5 is plenty entertaining in the meantime.

This is promising to hear. I really do think this is going to be the final delay, unless anything catastrophic happens.

Cyberpunk needed 3 years to make the game they wanted to while gathering player data and feedback. I can still find bugs in it today. This still isn’t convincing when we’re gauging the condition of the bugs 6 months from now.

this is slippery road, let’s hope that it wont stuck in the perfection loop

I’m okay with the delay, more time to finish my backlog.
Replying to @GameRoll_
They need over a year to do that? Be fr

PC is never gonna see GTA VI
Replying to @GameRoll_
That much work makes me hopeful of a PC release at the same time as consoles but that won't happen.

Real reason: Rockstar fired people who were unionising and other devs at the studio revolted in protest.

I don't think people realize that they're also doing development on gta VI online. All that shit needs to be bug tested as well. They won't release the game if gta online isn't ready. They will make an unfathomable amount from gta online alone.

you can literally list an endless amount of bugs with every single one of their games from GTA1 all the way up to RDR2 they're even aware of these when they patch them out in later updates, which is what they should really do instead of trying to make it perfect (it can't)
