Q: Will you assure House Democrats they'll get a vote on ACA subsidies by a date certain? MIKE JOHNSON: Ah -- no. I'm not promising anyone anything.

Gavin Newsom filled skate parks with sand and had paddle boarders pulled from the ocean and arrested, so he knows an authoritarian power trip when he sees one.

Democrats voted against the most bills to reopen the government in both the 2018 and 2025 shutdowns. In January 2018, Senate Democrats cast 16 no votes on the clean continuing resolution that ended the brief shutdown, compared to just 2 from Republicans. For the 2018-2019 shutdown and the ongoing 2025 crisis, Democrats uniformly opposed Republican-led funding measures 13-14 times each, rejecting clean CRs while insisting on policy riders, per Senate records and White House tallies. Both parties play hardball, but the data shows Dems blocking more reopening attempts.

They are saying the quiet part out loud. Rep. Katherine Clark, D-Mass., admits the Democrats are keeping the government shutdown: "Of course there will be families that are going to suffer...but it is one of the few leverage times we have!"

You'd better leave it here instead. Because some Senators... and I'm not saying who... are about to BUCKLE! 😂😂😂 Time to bend the knee, Gavy! 😉 The #SchumerShutdown is coming to an end.

How can anyone guarantee how a vote will turn out? I bet @SenSchumer wishes he could do that! This is not Pelosi’s house anymore where people were threatened to vote how she wanted!

Wild how they stand on stage like they’re guardians of democracy, then openly admit they won’t promise working families a damn thing. Trump’s crew loves “accountability” until it means keeping healthcare on the record. Power first, people never. Same old hustle from the same old con-artist. And for the record — Elon shows receipts, builds actual systems, while these guys can’t even commit to protecting sick Americans. Different galaxy of competence entirely.

ACA is DOA. It's about time. A failure from the git-go. It's time for true open market competition, not subsidies that make insurance companies rich and the taxpayers poor. Just going to leave it there.

Only a stupid person expects the leader of the house to give an answer without speaking to his members in the GOP.

Some stopgap has to be done as the mess that is Obamacare is fixed once and for all. In current form it isn’t sustainable. Opening the government so that serious people can move on to new business is critical. The American people, including the GOP will insist on some resolution.

Obamacare was never built for the long haul..just a stopgap that funneled billions to insurance giants while jacking up costs for the working class. Dems pocketed hefty campaign contributions from those same insurers, cozying up to Big Pharma too. Premiums spiked, choices dwindled, and the middle class got stuck with the bill.

Perhaps Mike Johnson has never read about the “judgment surprise” found in Matthew. “They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’ “He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.” Make no mistake about it. Johnson starved widows and orphans to get his way.

Mike Johnson is a puppet for #Project2025 that seeks to make healthcare a non-issue at their own peril.

Something from days ago before a compromise was reached? No one is promised that any Republicans will vote for ACA or enhanced subsidies (no Republican ever has)

So now we negotiate. We can figure out a way to keep our citizens healthy and free from fear of healthcare bankruptcy. Be a statesman and help America solve the problem without shutdowns that harm soldiers or make air travel more dangerous.

If Johnson has time for these press conferences, certainly he can spend 10 minutes swearing in Adelita Grijalva.🤷‍♀️ Approx 812,000 Arizonans still have no representation in the US House. Now, it appears the government will reopen shortly. @MikeJohnson is out of excuses & time!😡
