Nice paper in @ScienceMagazine apparently showing for the first time that DNA breaks leave lasting epigenetic scars Excitingly, it’s consistent with The Information Theory of Aging & our discovery of this same phenomenon in 1997, 1999, 2008 & 2023 🤣👏🧵 science.org/doi/pdf/10.1126/…

Huge AI news from Google Google Research just unveiled a bold new ML paradigm that views a model as a stack of nested problems so it can keep learning new skills forever without forgetting the old ones, a huge leap toward AI that actually evolves like a brain. 👀 On tests of language modeling, long context reasoning and continual learning, Hope (self modifying architecture) outperformed traditional transformer architectures and older methods. Big progress

The ultra enormous wave of knowledge that’s coming and will change everything. let me explain Among tens of millions of scientific papers, there are likely, due to the combinatorial power of cross disciplinary knowledge, millions, or even billions, of new discoveries waiting to be made. Soon, one of the tech giants or a leading university will develop AI model capable of analyzing all those papers and uncovering millions of hidden insights, such as 1000s of new cancer drug candidates and ideas we’ve never even imagined, because of the sheer complexity of the scientific landscape that AI will finally understand. If such a model is developed by a tech giant like Google DeepMind, Microsoft, Meta, or other AI lab - xAI, OpenAI, it could increase that company’s valuation beyond $10 trillion. The amount of value created would be enormous, and the market capitalization of those companies could explode to the Moon. IMO, we’re close to creating such AI, and it will happen before 2030, possibly as soon as 2026/2027.

Thank you, Mr. President @POTUS, for this opportunity. It will be an honor to serve my country under your leadership. I am also very grateful to @SecDuffy, who skillfully oversees @NASA alongside his many other responsibilities. The support from the space-loving community has been overwhelming. I am not sure how I earned the trust of so many, but I will do everything I can to live up to those expectations. To the innovators building the orbital economy, to the scientists pursuing breakthrough discoveries and to dreamers across the world eager for a return to the Moon and the grand journey beyond--these are the most exciting times since the dawn of the space age-- and I truly believe the future we have all been waiting for will soon become reality. And to the best and brightest at NASA, and to all the commercial and international partners, we have an extraordinary responsibility--but the clock is running. The journey is never easy, but it is time to inspire the world once again to achieve the near-impossible--to undertake and accomplish big, bold endeavors in space...and when we do, we will make life better here at home and challenge the next generation to go even further. NASA will never be a caretaker of history--but will forever make history. Godspeed, President Donald J. Trump, and Godspeed NASA, as America leads the greatest adventure in human history 🇺🇸

I am really liking the energy and focus on the Moon--especially any endeavor that could unlock an orbital or lunar economy. We are never going to have the future we dream of w/numerous space stations and lots of people working and traveling in space, if it all depends exclusively on taxpayer funding. I know the near-term won’t be easy, especially with the shutdown impacting so many across NASA and the government, but we are living in an incredible time... multiple launch providers driving reusability to lower cost to orbit, important dev programs like on-orbit refueling to extend reach, and private capital betting on everything from pharmaceutical formulations to asteroid mining and orbital computing. Once we crack the economic code, we will have the answer (and funding) as to why we need lots of people living and working in space.

BREAKING: Google just announced AI data centers in space, powered by TPUs—launching 2027 Project Suncatcher: Solar-powered satellites at 650km altitude running AI workloads directly from the Sun. The physics advantages are definitive—8× more solar capture with no atmosphere or nighttime, vacuum cooling that eliminates 40% of ground data center costs, and radiation-hardened TPUs tested to 15× mission requirements. Google’s launching two satellites early 2027, each carrying four TPUs to prove it works.
Our TPUs are headed to space!  Inspired by our history of moonshots, from quantum computing to autonomous driving, Project Suncatcher is exploring how we could one day build scalable ML compute systems in space, harnessing more of the sun’s power (which emits more power than 100 trillion times humanity’s total electricity production). Like any moonshot, it’s going to require us to solve a lot of complex engineering challenges. Early research shows our Trillium-generation TPUs (our tensor processing units, purpose-built for AI) survived without damage when tested in a particle accelerator to simulate low-earth orbit levels of radiation. However, significant challenges still remain like thermal management and on-orbit system reliability.  More testing and breakthroughs will be needed as we count down to launch two prototype satellites with @planet by early 2027, our next milestone of many. Excited for us to be a part of all the innovation happening in (this) space!

Epigenetic Reprogramming in humans is coming early next year (2026)... This is one of the first steps towards longevity escape velocity. We've known that you can reset the age of DNA taken from an "old cell" and putting it into a "young egg". Epigenetic reprogramming is real, and its coming. Get ready for a longer, healthier life... just in time to Surf the Singularity!

"Sometimes we must realize that the best way to reach a basic income is to present it as a refundable tax credit rather than as a paycheck. As simply reducing the taxation of the rich and poor alike, with a cash transfer to those whose tax liability is less than the credit."

A novelty: Researchers at UMass Amherst built the first artificial neuron that can “whisper” to real brain cells using the same tiny voltage as biological neurons (~0.1 V). It uses protein nanowires from bacteria, stable in wet environments, allowing direct and low-power communication with living neurons. This marks a step toward bio-electronic integration, not artificial consciousness, but a new bridge between silicon and the brain! Looks like Ray Kurzweil was right again.
