For those of us who lost the whip for voting to scrap the 2 child limit this is a clear vindication of the stand we took. I pay tribute to all who have campaigned for this but we recognise this is just the first step in eradicating poverty in our society. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c70j…

There is no vast amount of savings from cracking down on benefit fraud because the level of fraud is vastly overestimated in the press and by ministers who should know better. HMRC trial of child benefit crackdown wrongly suspected fraud in 46% in cases theguardian.com/society/2025…

📸 @ricardostuckert

I will never forget when in 2009, for reasons best known to themselves, the BBC banned itself from airing a humanitarian appeal for the people of #Gaza. This was one of Tony Benn's finest moments: the 2009 Gaza Aid Appeal.

There has been a lot of talk about BBC bias today. Its a good moment to remember the BBC Gaza Report @cfmmuk by the Centre for Media Monitoring, just to remind ourselves of the scandalous bias against Palestine @BBCNews in the face of the Gaza Genocide share.google/rzQVhvigAoqQ3Lj…

The future of Palestine belongs to the Palestinians. Intl law says it. The ICJ reaffirmed it. Now: States must cut ties with Apartheid Israel. Companies > divest. Universities > disengage. Citizens > stop buying its products/services. Alternatives exist. Justice means freedom.

If the UK has recognised the state of Palestine, why is there no British Embassy to Palestine but instead a Consulate in East Jerusalem under the direct control of the British Embassy to Israel in Tel Aviv?

🟢 Hamas Official Ismail Radwan: Hamas has been honest and faithful in its commitment, but we continue to witness repeated violations by the Zionist occupation — shootings, explosions, and ongoing gunfire day and night throughout the Gaza Strip, especially in what they call the “yellow zone.” The agreement clearly stipulates a ceasefire and an end to targeting civilians. Since the start of the ceasefire, 241 people have been killed and 619 wounded, in addition to massive destruction. The humanitarian protocol has not been implemented: only 150–200 trucks enter daily instead of 600, and essential supplies — tents, caravans, medical materials — are lacking. Famine continues, hospitals are short of medicines, and over 15,000 wounded and sick need treatment abroad while Rafah Crossing remains closed. This closure is a humanitarian crime. We call on the international community and mediators to pressure the occupation to open Rafah and adhere to the ceasefire and humanitarian terms. Source: @AJArabic

Lloyds Bank has quietly bought 7,500 homes since 2021 👉now a £2 billion rental empire. The same banks that fuelled the housing crisis are turning it into their next profit stream. Britain’s new landlords aren’t families 👉they’re financial institutions. #HousingCrisis #Financialisation #ManagedDecline
🏦 Lloyds is becoming a landlord, not a lender Since 2021, Lloyds has bought 7,500 homes for rent and plans to keep expanding its £2 billion portfolio. That means one of Britain’s biggest high-street banks built on mortgage lending is now competing against ordinary buyers for property. This turns housing from a public necessity into a corporate investment class, deepening the very affordability crisis the banks helped create.

Poverty affects almost a third of children in the UK. Labour could choose to lift hundreds of thousands of children out of poverty immediately by fully scrapping the two-child benefit cap. Remember: child poverty is a political choice.
