And when you go for a bench press 1rm and fail, you die. Because spotters are….socialism?

I think you know this is a bad faith argument, unless you don’t understand the difference between state imposed redistribution and a personal choice to help someone in your free time?

Yeah but if we’re going to entertain this analogy, it kind of does exist vis-à-vis growth factor and other anabolic factors released with certain exercises. For example when you’re doing squats, the other muscles benefit and hypertrophy as well. Just sayin. The big muscles definitely carry the little muscles. This is a form of physiologic socialism. 🙂

Sure, but that remains the result of your own hard work. It’s not redistributed to you based on the labor or capital of others.

Too funny. A gym is literally a shared good that is subsidised by the members who rarely use it for the benefit of those that use it the most. It is the perfect metaphor for socialism.

What a stupid reply. Gyms are voluntary.

This is backward. The gains are individual, but the gym itself is the 'socialism.' A gym is a communal system. Everyone pools their money (a 'tax,' aka a membership fee) to share public resources (the squat racks, treadmills) that would be too expensive for each person to own individually. A 'capitalist' gym is a home gym. A 'socialist' gym is Planet Fitness.

The same is true of everything, just less directly. You can steal peoples’ money, but you can’t steal the traits and effort that make the money. That’s why socialism doesn’t work.

If the truth is in the training (and it always is) this means that Socialism is a lie (and it always has been)

GM ☕ Kings. You can get lipo. You can get cut up and plastic all over. You can even get implants to shape muscles. But you can either bench 315, squat 315, deadlift 405...or you can't. Proof Of Effing Work. 🔥 Who's going to throw some plates around today?

And countries and cities aren't gyms And even in the gym you're benefiting from 1. A supply chain that gives you access to food, pre workout, supplements, etc 2. An entire scientific establishment giving you the info on how to be healthy, workout well, etc 3. The infrastructure like roads, etc that enable you to be able to go to the gym in the first place Individualism is a poorly examined myth

Lead line, bro. It takes two to tango. Or you too afraid to enter the true wilds, face your fears and stare directly into the void of free-fall? All in the name of successfully climbing the mountaintop and recording your legacy within the summit register! #chiralsuperior

so if someone is a bit of an exercise non-responder (which is a real thing), but has been working hard life everyone else, do they deserve the opportunity to get access to a type of workout that will be better for them?

You didn’t build the gym. You share the equipment. You benefit from collective investment. The gym is socialism with dumbbells.

Maybe that's why the left is upset about fitness.

I don’t think you understand socialism or capitalism. Under socialism you do the work, you get the reward - the workers own the means of production. Under capitalism you do the work and the owner gets the rewards. How have you come to believe the opposite of reality?

Fuck the gym metaphor. Americans need universal healthcare or we will go bankrupt and die early. We also need stable SS benefits for our later years. This suck it up mentality while healthcare bennies are eliminated sucks ass!

The gym is pure merit. No shortcuts, no handouts. You put in the work, you get the results. That's how life should be.

A lot of gains (or fat losses) is achieved in the kitchen, where someone else is cooking for you. Is that socialism?

So all those gymnasts and athletes who have competed for socialist countries and who won gold medals for their countries… they don’t exist in your world? You’re more propagandised than a North Korean, dude. You haven’t got a fucking clue!

The entire concept of a gym is socialism you fucking moron. It’s a way to avoid everyone buying and maintaining their own weights and home gym. Jesus Americans are the dumbest fucking people on the planet 🤦🏻‍♂️🤡
