Texas is moving so fast, EIA can't keep up. According to S&P, at the end of Q2, ERCOT had 14,000 megawatts of batteries. According to ERCOT, we're now at 15,712 megawatts. Texas has added more batteries in the last quarter than PJM has added in its entire history.
Battery capacity by power grid in the US: CAISO (California): 14,609 MW ERCOT (Texas): 10,982 MW PJM (Mid-Atlantic): 441 MW Crazy that California has built 33x more battery capacity than the largest grid in the US (PJM).

Megapack grid-forming inverters are key to enabling global grid stability and reliability This technology allows Megapack to resist changes on the network by creating its own voltage signal, preventing blackouts and allowing more renewables to come online

Megapack will carry a lot of the world’s load in energy, as it allows power plants to run continuously.

I’m a southern girl so I don’t know much about shoveling snow. But, flame throwing seems like a more thrilling option. 😂

Video I just got from a friend. Exciting to see drones being used to move stuff for humans! We are building the JUMBO version of this… a quadcopter that can air lift TWO fully loaded Ford F350s… 👀 Team is COOKING! Some exciting announcements coming soon. We’ve been busy

For the first time in our existence, we possess the means, technology, and, for the moment, the will to establish a permanent human presence beyond Earth. Starship is designed to make this future a reality → spacex.com/updates/#moon-and…

I don't think the wider public is prepared for what a ridiculously roomy spacecraft Starship will be. Nothing like it since Skylab

The Falkirk Wheel In Falkirk, Scotland there’s the world’s only “boat lift wheel thingy” It can lift about 1,000 tonnes 80ft with just 1.5kWh of energy, because it’s cleverly balanced. The slew rings are 6.5meter diameter (from SKF obviously). The world should have a lot more functional landmarks like this. But why don’t subways use this same idea? This would be a great way to lift a subway train up to the surface for maintenance and/or to swap trains in and out of service without having to shuffle them all the way to the edge of the subway network, or to move trains on/off deeper lines. People will say “cost” but this thing only cost about £75m and this one is watertight. Not everything should be conventional.
