A small disclaimer as it keeps popping up on my feed: Ryan posts engagement bait. Whoever he is, it's sad he chose C# because it brings bad attention and furthers already existing misconceptions about it. All to simply gain more popularity. Don't do this.

I was frustrated at work by an overengineered algorithm implemented in C++ So I decided to fully rewrite it. My rewrite is now more complex than the original.

I joined the army when I was 17-years-old and have taken care of myself my entire life without any financial help from anyone - so I’m immune to all the crying. When I was broke, which was many years, I ate peanut butter sandwiches for weeks. If that. I was even homeless, one time living in a tent by a lake for months. Not once during this time, did I think the government was responsible, or look to the government for solutions, or blame rich people. Or ask for a handout. Every bad place I’ve been in my life is because of bad decisions I’ve made. It was my fault and my fault alone. I’m financially successful now because of hard work. People who constantly blame others because they’re not successful, will never be succeed. Stop whining, stop looking for the government handouts and solutions to save you, stop being jealous of successful people, go to work, and figure it out.

Our worst outage happened because of a comma. Configuration file: max_connections: 1,000 Our parser interpreted that as 1 (it stopped reading at the comma). The terrifying part? This config had been deployed for 3 months. We only noticed when traffic increased and suddenly we could only handle 1 concurrent connection. Lessons: - Validate configs at deploy time, not runtime - Integration tests should check actual resource limits - Syntax errors don't always throw errors

Shame on me: for 12+ years every BenchmarkDotNet release was built manually on my laptop. I finally set up a GitHub Actions release workflow. Now any maintainer can publish a new version with a few clicks. This is the first release not built by human hands.
BenchmarkDotNet v0.15.6 has been released! github.com/dotnet/BenchmarkD…

You can just go ahead and remove it if you aren't a dev.
Did you guys know that Linux is so developer-oriented that it has a special directory called /dev/ where you're supposed to develop all your projects?
So what happens to the counter terrorism officers who unlawfully targeted me ? 👀

🚨Tommy Robinson acquitted of all charges under the Terrorism Act. The judge was blistering in his criticism of the police, saying their testimony lacked “credibility” and that they had in fact targeted Tommy for political reasons, which is illegal. Incredible outcome.

My pet-peeve is that I can not document my errors, sure I can create "result" messages but nobody does that in practice since non of the tooling will work ...

So far I've had success with SignalR, with both MessagePack and JSON as supported encodings.
