If you're making more typos in iOS lately, you're not going crazy - it's a bug in iOS that causes the keyboard to randomly insert the wrong letter instead of what you typed.
It’s not a bug or a random letter, you selected “u” then slid your thumb over to “j” before releasing it. The keyboard is programmed to input the last letter you selected. Don’t select slide, tap and you’ll be fine.
Has anyone else noticed horrific autocorrect issues along with this?
I don’t think it’s necessarily due to incorrect letters — it’s like they made it too “predictive” and often results in sentences with entirely opposite meanings.
This kind of thing should just never make it through testing. All that money and all those people and they can’t even do this fundamental quality control. This more than anything is a sign that Tim needs to step down. They need someone who obsesses over quality.
This has literally been like this since iOS 16. I clocked it way back then and it still being a thing just goes to show how little apple cares about things that actually matter.
The tapboxes are not properly aligned with the UI keys and it’s been so fucking obvious.
bet ya 100$ that’s because the swipe typing is turned on
you have to fire on key up because you can’t tell if it’s part of a swipe gesture until they key up
