ICE deports pet parents—leaving their cat behind toothless and abandoned. Cat was just left to fend for himself by ICE agents—luckily a kind neighbor rescued him and brought him to local shelter. Nobody knows his given name—or how he became toothless—so the shelter named him George. The married couple who adopted him, who go by "saltandpepper_tails," are even trying to speak Spanish to George in hopes of making him feel more comfortable. They also wrote, "Someone should make a website for all the pets of people kidnapped by ICE so people can see if their babies are ok once they are in a place to check." The pet rescue took place at a Petco in southern Utah. #DemsUnited

Now we can't deport illegal aliens because they have a cat? Did you even for one moment think about what you were posting? Can't deport them, they have a toothless cat. If the cat is a US citizen and doesn't wish to accompany them, then leave the cat alone. I would much rather have the cat than the illegals.

Yah know the responsible thing would be deport them with their pets using the proper methods then these smash and grab they keep doing like every illegal person is a harden coke smuggling criminal. Not to even mention those who are in the process of trying to legalize.

It's understandable, you see illegals as innocent people trying to better their family. There are some of those for sure! But there are also MS13 gang members that have been charged and/or convicted of rape and murder. Often after the arrest, they will come out and let the public know why the person was arrested. That's when you learn the reason. Take the time to learn why. If federal officers arrest a known gang member that has been CONVICTED of murder or rape, it may be heartless for me to say but their pet isn't a concern. Having two goldfish doesn't override a murder conviction. Take the time to find out why the person was arrested. Many of them aren't the type people you want coming in your house at midnight or carjacking you on the way home from work.

I'm sure as a child I didn't understood the problem of illegal immigration. We have criminal illegal aliens in the country. Some have murdered and raped American citizens. Some belong to violent gangs. Since they entered the country illegally, we didn't have a chance to vet them first. Some have kids, some have pets, all have to go. They can self deport right now and take their pet with them or roll the dice and see if ICE finds them. It most countries, if you are caught there illegally they don't deport you, they put you in prison. And your cat isn't allowed to go with you. Wherever they have a pet or not can't have any bearing on their deportation.

They should be given the opportunity to make arrangements for their pets before being deported, or, if possible, allow them to take the pet with them. Off topic, but being a constitutional conservative and Christian nationalist is incompatible.

The point I believe they were trying to make is animal control should have been notified there was an animal needing care. Hell at least the person make arrangements for care. The cat was just left. You also can’t just import an animal into another country without medical record

The ICE agents had a duty to adopt the cat and take care of it. It's not that hard nor an imposition. Just, you know, adopt it. Done. They can even take the cat with them on emergency calls. Like cops do with K-9 units.
