Donald Trump’s lawyers literally argued in court yesterday that feeding starving families undermines his ability to use hunger as political leverage for the shutdown. SICK!

Sen. Sanders: The cause of this shutdown is not complicated. For the first time ever, the majority party in the Senate is refusing to negotiate. It is their way or the highway. And to make the situation even more absurd, you got a Speaker of the House who has now given his members a six-week paid vacation. If that doesn't tell you everything you need to know about whether Republicans are willing to negotiate, I don't know what will.
It would cost $38B to continue to subsidize the ACA for Americans for another year. Republicans refuse to do that. But they didn’t block Trump sending $40B to Argentina? America first?
It would cost $38 billion to extend ACA credits next year and prevent millions of people from losing their healthcare. Reminder: Trump sent $40 billion to Argentina for no reason.

Every R plan to replace #ACA has centered on 1 idea: allowing insurers to again segregate the healthy from the sick, which could lower premiums for former while raising cost & cutting access for latter. The 130m Americans w/preexisting conditions have never liked that trade

Can a reporter please ask Senator Thune why it's a "nonstarter" to extend government funding AND the ACA enhanced tax credits at the current levels so we can open the government and ensure Americans' health care premiums don't double? Thanks!
Thune says the new Dem offer is a “nonstarter” but called it a sign of “progress” that they backed off their original offer from several weeks ago. But reiterates it still doesn’t “get anywhere close to what we need to do here.”

Oh, Trump and the Republicans can’t stand how the big, bad insurance companies are ripping-off Americans. Really? Are you serious? Then I welcome your support for Medicare for All. Let’s end the greed of the insurance industry & make healthcare a human right, not a privilege.
She’s exactly right. Mike Johnson will keep the federal government shut down until December 2nds special election. And the real only reason it is shut down is to protect the P3DOS.

You wanted cheaper groceries, you got 50-year mortgages instead. Trump’s “solution” to affordability is debt that outlives you.
WOW. @GavinNewsom’s Houston rally is so packed he’s going outside to meet people who can’t get in because the venue is FULL. I’ve never seen Greg Abbott hold an event like this and it’s HIS state!
Nothing to see here….just the guy from Argentina that Trump gave a $40B bailout doing the stupid Trump dance at Mar-a-Lago at the CPAC event there while Americans are losing healthcare and waiting in line at food banks across the country

Remember when Donald Trump said there would be people standing in bread lines trying to get food if Kamala Harris won? People are standing in line for food in Cleveland because of Donald Trump. It’s always pure projection.

OMG! Are you really that insurance and ACA challenged? The ACA - what you call Obamacare, is NOT an insurance policy. It is a law that requires insurance companies to allow people with pre-existing conditions to have coverage; it currently requires the government to make sure that no person or family is paying more than 9% of their household income. It also requires insurance companies to provide preventative care at no cost as well as other amenities. LET'S BE CLEAR - YOU CHOOSE YOUR OWN INSURANCE. STOP LYING LAURA INGRAHAM!

One of the problems with healthcare coverage in US vs other wealthy countries is others view it as a societal good that all should have access to and all benefit from… whereas we in U.S. view it as a consumer product that only some have have “earned” or deserve access to. 😞
When a WI woman asked Sen Johnson what options she'd have without the ACA if she tested positive for the genetic pre-existing condition that killed her mom, he said he would force her back into the high-risk pools that made anyone with pre-existing conditions pay double for care.

President Donald Trump seemed to struggle to keep his eyes open during a roughly 20-minute stretch at an Oval Office event on drug-price cuts. Sitting behind the Resolute Desk, Trump’s eyes repeatedly closed while his deputies took turns giving remarks. wapo.st/4owa0QP
