“Every generation deserves its own stories, instead of just the stories of their grandparents.”
Vince Gilligan on pitching the original concept for #Pluribus when execs were asking, “What’s next in the ‘Breaking Bad’ world?”: “We live in a world of IP, where the safest thing to do is reboot something that has an audience. I wanted to prove to myself I wasn’t a one-trick pony. It’s harder than it’s ever been to get something made that’s not based on a previous movie or comic book or video game. Every generation deserves its own stories, instead of just the stories of their grandparents.” wp.me/pc8uak-1lGwMi

And what's in the case if these generations likes the stories of their grandparents? Is that somehow a bad thing now?

We should definitely keep old stories alive, but we shouldn't neglect to make new ones.

It’s so awesome to see that being said. It’s truly unfortunate how uncomfortable people are seeing stories they grew up with change for the younger generation!

"what if Invasion of the Body Snatchers went by the way of a Rick and Morty episode?" - Vince Gilligan

Gilligan has openly admitted that without David Chase's The Sopranos (1999–2007), Walter White wouldn't exist.
