I would encourage people to join a club that shoots 22 pistol Olympic style matches. There is an exemption to allow purchasing a 22 cal pistol. (Better than no pistol) I know the exemption works. Most of us that are older than 55 started out shooting this 22 sport. It is fun

My 3gun club went from matches being sold out in minutes, to the lowest membership rates ever. Barely get enough people out to run a match. Kind of seems like another goal of theirs.
