We're urging people with cardiovascular disease to get vaccinated against the flu virus. The flu virus can weaken the respiratory system, which is important for the heart to function properly, and it can directly harm the heart muscle. This means getting the flu can be particularly dangerous for people with cardiovascular disease. Find out more: bhf.org.uk/what-we-do/news-f…
Help shape the future of defibrillator access in the UK ❤️ We’re running an important survey to understand people’s views on defibrillators. Whether you’ve seen one or never thought about them before. It takes just 10 minutes, and your feedback will help us make these lifesaving devices more widely available across the UK. bhf.questionpro.eu/Defibs202…

We were pleased to speak to Health Secretary @wesstreeting yesterday at #LPC25 & are delighted that he's committed to driving progress in cardiovascular outcomes. Lots of work to do to meet the Govt ambition to reduce early CVD death by 25%, but together, we can make this a reality ❤️

Every three minutes, someone in the UK dies from cardiovascular disease. Ahead of World Heart Day, we set up a giant egg-timer on London's Southbank, bringing to life the urgent reality of cardiovascular deaths across the UK. The timer has been unveiled by Rivals actress Lisa McGrillis and her best friend Mary Cann, after Mary lost her husband Nigel suddenly last year. Nigel was only 47 years old and on his way to play padel when his heart stopped one Tuesday evening with seemingly no warning. In his memory, Lisa and Mary have raised over £19,500 for our lifesaving research ❤️
