And I think that Mamdani is the one you need to hear from tonight. There are a lot of people trying to figure out, can I get on this train with him or not? Is he going to include me? Is he going -- is he -- is he going to be more of a class warrior even in office? I think he missed a chance tonight to to open up and bring more people into the tent. I think his tone was sharp. The lesson isn’t that every city is New York or every state is Virginia or New Jersey it’s that when voters say the economy sucks, you can’t gaslight them with ads insisting it’s not that bad. You have to show them how you’ll make life more affordable. In some states, that means taking on private utilities; in some cities, it means free buses or childcare. The real takeaway is simple: listen to voters, ask what you can do for them, and offer clear policies that make their lives easier.
