Martine Croxall’s eye-roll spoke for a nation. It is time for the BBC to follow its own impartiality rules. My @thetimes column.

The majority of people who hear the odd mention of "trans people" in the media have no idea what's happening and just laugh at the ridiculous men are women. It's a joke to them but if they knew what we know they wouldn't be laughing.
That ship has sailed. Sailed quite some time ago. In the words of Carole King, it’s too late baby. It’s too late. The BBC is rotten with bias, partiality and antisemitism. It’s beyond saving. It has to go.
An excellent article which cuts to the root cause of the problem, from an outside observers perspective. Although I would suggest the rot within the corporation has spread much further than the complaints dept. Therefore far more aggressive surgery is required.
Again....aleister crowley returned to outram road, croydon in 1919...having "experimented " in Hollywood...by 1922 the bbc was setup as a private org which went public in 1926....when lizardbreath was birthed...
As a socialist (who was informed by 1970s second wave feminists) I am appalled that it is only right wing newspapers that now permit columnists to defend women's sex-based rights.
I'm old enough to remember The Guardian's women's page.
Katharine Viner has destroyed its legacy.
Martine's eye-roll deserves an award! BBC, time to roll up your sleeves and balance out that news coverage. Here's hoping for more genuine impartiality soon!
“It is time the BBC acknowledged its failings of impartiality, that gender is a subject with more than one side. It must restore trust, before the nation’s eyes roll right out of its head.”
I fear it may already be too late and, without root and branch reform, too little.
And the @BBC bleat that they are constantly reviewing and updating the guidance - funny how there has been no change in using wrong sex pronouns for TiP. It is perfectly possible to write/report without using ANY pronouns.
Everyone’s chasing outrage clicks these days. A presenter rolling her eyes isn’t proof of national collapse, it’s just proof that we’ve mistaken human expression for ideology.
Similar to the home office , the BBC management has been slowly taken over by left wing ideologues . This was planned and gradual - so insidious that we barely noticed . It will take a Reform government and many years for these institutions to be put right .
